June Bring Your Lunch To Work
Comments
-
Being treated for lunch today so one of my non-counted days.
If anyone has any ideas for lunches that don't need to be refrigerated, they would be most welcome. ETA for new work fridge - 17th June to 1st July   although I will probably end up buying a cool bag and some ice packs as I have lots of salad etc at home I had planned to use!
I have a packed lunch bag that I got from tiger - it's quite big and insulated - can you use something similar and put an icepack in it?
Or soup red hot in a thermos will last till lunch
I'd like to join(although I pretty much always take my food to work)
I have 12 days left of work in June and will take lunch each day.
I'm looking on here for inspiration :money:DF as at 30/12/16

Hi all! happy to contribute to this thread - I almost exclusively bring lunch to work every day but I'm always happy to share and get new ideas!
I have coeliac disease (gluten free diet) so buying food at or near work is difficult/unappetising/expensive. I usually bulk cook or make enough food for tea that we can bring leftovers to work for lunch.
On Sunday I made a big batch of beef stidafo stew. We like to make it with a big beef brisket and let it slow cook until it pulls apart. Stewed on low for about 3.4-4 hours in a le creuset with whole peeled shallots, big chunks of carrot, garlic, chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, beef stock, red wine vinegar, bay leaves, cinnamon, oregano, cloves, and allspice. Served with rice or veggies and salad. Makes enough for 7/8 portions.
So 3/4/5th June have all been Stifado. It's my absolute fave thing to cook but it's not cheap so we don't do it often. Still way cheaper than a prepackaged sandwich thoughWedding savings Jan 19: £1.4k. Sept 19: £7.5k. Mar 20: £12.6k
Goal: Pay for wedding by August 20200 -
Hi, can I join too please? I spend a bit on lunches & I need to cut down on my spending.
As a part-timer working 3 days a week, I would like to try for 11 days this month.0 -
