Food and drink in a pub is outside the order.

Presumably this is because drink in licensed premises comes under the Weights and Measures Act 1985 or the The Price Marking (Food and Drink Services) Order 2003

You have no right to claim anything back. You drank the wine.

The fact that you did not sign the cc slip is irrelevant. You were offered the item at £15.50, and by drinking the wine you accepted it. The advertisement was an invitation to treat, so not legally binding.

Sorry, but that is the legal viewpoint.

The legal view is also that it was a "misleading price indication" - "Consumer protection act". And if the customer is not satisfied with the remedy offered by the retailer, they should inform the local trading standards. Because what the pub is doing is illegal. AFAIK

At most you'd be entitled to £1, is it really worth you time and effort?

"However I don't feel it's right for me to claim the full amount back".

    infact you put:
Is it right to claim the full £15.50 through the bank?

Why don't you read the thread before asking such a simple question?

i have, and nowhere can i see where it says:
in fact I wrote "However I don't feel it's right for me to claim the full amount back".

    i read it as:
Is it right to claim the full £15.50 through the bank?

because thats what it says, not i dont feel its right, it says is it right, like thats what the OP was going to do.

    Easy enough for you?

You are a perfect example of whats wrong with this country

You had every right to reject the offer

You didnt and accepted the offer of wine at 15.50 that is a contract, a price tag is simply an invitation to contract

It was clearly an error, it was advised to you and you chose to proceed

Its people like you who are turning the courts of this country into the US

    Agreed.Ill second you with that
