    Happy Bank Holiday Sunday, people.
It rained overnight - so my decision to not water the plants last night was the right one. Good to get it right now and again!!

Off to the gym at 9:30, so will shower after that. Freshly showered and smelling sweet now. Good session, with my favourite trainer - he really makes us push ourselves, but at the same time if very particular about making sure our technique is good. One good rep is worth 10 bad ones, he says - then he expects us to do 10 good ones!!!
Then meeting a friend/colleague for coffee at 12 - which is an odd time to meet for coffee, but we're doing our butter demonstration at 13:30, so we'll have 1/2 an hour before we need to start getting set up at 12:30. Must have a quick lunch before I go so I don't have to buy food and can just have coffee!! One cheese sandwich, coming up!!

Step-daughter's baby is due in about 3 weeks, and I've been knitting bootees (I budget £10 per person per occasion for gifts, so decided something hand-made might be nice). It got me thinking about Etsy and such sites, and whether there might be a market for such things - and of course there is!! Food for thought.
Enjoy the day - hope the rain doesn't spoil your plans.

    Morning all :hello:

    Busy but productive day looming:

Move cinnamon sticks from plastic tub into glass jar that used to be a home for olives and label
Small to party. Present and card from stash
Other small to swimming - already paid
Check plants in garden, water if required. Maybe just pots.
    Triage fridge
DH and I to discuss some plans we need to resolve
Checked both DH and I credit report for anomalies. There is one on mine which I want to resolve, not a big issue - but an account I closed 2 years ago has reappeared as active.
Double check meal plan for the week

    Think that's about all. Purps.

I would steer clear of Etsy - a lot of experienced crafters are moving away from it due to the high fees. I can't make an alternative recommendation as not enough experience, although I am veering towards Folksy instead

    Morning folks!

A bit of rain here although not as much as I was hoping for. The ground is parched. I've swapped my normal Sunday in work for tomorrow. Still, I forgot to turn my alarm off so have been awake since 6.15am!

Today will be a home/pottering day I think.

Trailing - I opened an Etsy shop a couple of years ago and was encouraged when an item sold in the first hour but after then it went very quiet & I sold very little over the next 2 years despite offering free postage & lowering my prices. I closed the shop & now sell at local craft events which is more successful. I have also sold in a local gift shop but the commission charged is very high & I make very little profit.

I enjoy reading your posts-before retiring I worked for a house & garden open to the public and we visit a NT or EH most weeks.

Although a regular reader of the 'small things' forum, I rarely post nowadays as I am trying to reduce my online activity!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it. I'm on to the second bootee, so I'm timing how long it actually takes to knit them. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!!

We arrived home from our short break on Friday evening. We unpacked the car and put away essential bits and pieces. We spent the rest of the time catching up with my parents.

Yesterday we washed and dried 5 large loads of laundry, some was from before we went away. Most of it dried outside. Anything that didn't dry we finished off on the airer overnight. We finished the unpacking and put away the clean washing.
Yesterday we also went to my parents (new to them) house and cut up the living room carpet so we can use it for our stairs. We washed down the walls.

This morning I took the children to training whilst OH painted the walls. We have now removed the old carpet and scraped the rubber underlay off the stone stairs. OH is giving the wood work a light sanding etc before we paint that.

Mean while I'm finishing my coffee break and doing the usual chores as well as sorting out one of my bedroom drawers.

Tomorrow we plan on fitting the new (to us) carpet.

This will be a very mse make over for our hall:
    Carpet and underlay donated
    Paint and tools from stores
    :money::money::money:

Plus NSD Saturday & Sunday and probably tomorrow.
