    Morning all

A mixed day today but hopefully not too expensive:

    * charge phone at work
    * not planned on popping out at lunch but remembered I need a birthday and to post it (already have stamps in my purse)
    * washing done lat night so been on the airer overnight
    * hopefully sell DD dance shoes to another parent so recoup some of the money I spent on the new ones
    * placed my first ever bet on the football for Monday and got 3 free bets so I have used one to back the other team too. This way, I will at least get my initial stake back whoever wins :j:p:p
    * try to sort out some more fabric pieces to sell on the groups I belong to
    * maybe a family walk over the weekend which is almost free apart from any associated parking
    * try to make a small PAD to CC even if it's only a fiver
    * check bank and update SS - counting down towards payday next week and the last one before my pay increases :j

    Have a great Friday everyone

I'm sitting in the window, enjoying the warmth and the sunshine - unfortunately it's a little too windy here for sitting out.

First job this morning was to take the shock absorbers that they took out of the car back to the supplier - they needed replacing, so we'd bought re-conditioned ones. You pay a deposit, then when you take the old ones in, you get a refund - £60!!
I received a £4.50 voucher from Tesco Clubcard the other day - there isn't a Tesco near us, so as I happened to be passing one on the way back from dropping the shocks off, I thought I might as well go and use it. Decided not to buy anything that I could get cheaper at Aldi, but instead to buy something that I know I'll enjoy but that I can't buy cheaper elsewhere. As it happens, their pizzas were on special, so I bought a variety that Aldi don't sell, just for a change. That left me 25p short of the full £4.50, so I got some Polo mints to keep in the car. That of course took me over the £4.50, so I had to fork out 40p!! Not a lot - but I'm old enough to think '8 shillings'!!!! Ate half the pizza this evening, and froze half. I have to say - not as nice as Aldi, and this was Tesco Finest range at £4.25 (compared to £1.69 at Aldi). Glad I didn't actually pay real money for it!!
Then off to Asda for a couple of things I can't get at Aldi - my shiny new Asda credit card wouldn't work. I'd activated it before I left the house, and I'd used it to get the refund on the shocks, so a bit puzzling. I didn't want to keep trying in case they stopped the card! So, had to pay with my debit card and thus miss out on the 1% cashback. Frustrating, but probably only amounts to about 2p, so no point in stressing!
Last stop was Aldi for the normal weekly shopping. Even after the extravagances of last week (takeaway, coffee out and a very pleasant but rather expensive ice cream) my weekly average is still only £16.82 on food shopping - so again, I refuse to stress about it. I spent £2.69 on a pack of 8 mini ice lollies - I obviously need to have ice cream in my life, so this is the cheapest way to do it!!

Lunch now. Then I need to do a bit of work in the office and plan for my interview on Tuesday (group session, followed by a 1 to 1, and then a presentation!!!).

    Enjoy the sunshine.

    Afternoon folks!

Ditty - "drippy spending" :rotfl: I know what you mean!
May has been a very spendy month. Not as bad as I feared... but it gets worse.

Bit of an odd weekend so far, and yep, some drippy spending here too. Picked up salad cream and floss from B&M, then prosecco (for us) and Carling (for the slugs) on Wed.

OH and I attempted to stay up late ish on Wed night watching some Crossfit on youtube and crashed at 12!

Thursday was our wedding anniversary but we were working all day in his mum's (lunch and dinner provided though). To be fair, their garden is looking really nice and I am getting to nab all the unwanted plants and ceramic pots! Then we went to see The Rutles, courtesy of my old boss who had spare tickets. He bought the beers too. It was so blimmin warm though that OH and I left after the first half as we were both feeling pretty faint.

Today was gym, reconcile budget sheet, then pottering in the garden. Have discovered that the shed, which was on its last legs, is now beyond all help. It's probably the responsibility of the LL but given his track record, I can't see him sorting it any time soon so have resigned myself to buying a new one. :(

We have ANOTHER gig tonight! This time it's an old friend so will likely be catching up with lots of folks we know. Not planning to drink as have had more than enough the last two days. Must check where to park at that end of town as our usual car park is quite a walk away.

    Have a good one all

    Morning all :hello:

Did the last of my money shuffle this morning and paid off just for points CC :T
I'm volunteering at park run today :T if you've never been I would suggest looking into it. You don't have to run (to take part or volunteer) and they always have a tail walker so no one comes last. I'm tailwalking today (so ran yesterday) - top tip you get a volunteer and run credit if you tailwalk. Even in my middle age I'm still all about the prizes :rotfl: it'd be a lovely 5k walk for peeps.

    Other things:
Homemade curry for tea including smalls :T
Washing out on line to dry
    Water plants
Visit a local town this afternoon for some inspiration for some work we're having done. Strictly window shopping :rotfl: oh, except for hot drink and cake to share where we'll be using our vouchers to get them for free :D
Set up a savings account for my godson, to mature when he's 18. Will look for a cashback deal.
Walk later with friend, try and take back some returns as part of the process.
    Track food.

Have a good day all. Purps.

Edit - forgot to mention last night I'd forgotten to get something out of freezer for tea. I'd bought some frozen Chinese noodles from L1dl for about £1.99, had chicken and loads of veggies in. 10 minutes later it was just like a takeaway (only piping hot as it was straight out the pan) and did 2 of us very easily. Well worth looking out for as a standby and whilst not my usual methodology much better than reaching for a takeaway.
