My only advice would be to avoid Levenshulme. I regularly drive through it and whoever suggested it was "up and coming" is off their rocker.0

Have you considered Stockport? The transport links are great as you can get from Edgeley Station to Manchester Piccadilly in about 10 minutes. Plus the old town of Stockport has a nice vibe to it with the Foodie Fridays, Produce Hall and Maker Markets.
For your budget I spotted these 2 bedroom terraces which may be of interest?

I have considered Walkden I saw a stunning house there a few months ago but I missed out because my budget was too low at the time. Are there any parts that are particularly good or anywhere I should avoid? I'm not familiar with Salford at all and never really been anywhere in Salford other than the hospital.MissMarble wrote: »Have you considered Stockport? Both of those houses look amazingI've heard that Edgeley is one of the new up and coming places too
I will try and arrange viewings. Stockport is another place I'm not really familiar with I've been to the centre a few times though.

Tbh Levenshulme just doesn't seem like my kind of place. The houses are nice but I feel like it's getting very overpriced and the houses regularly sell for well over asking price based on my friends' experiences so I don't think it's worth me even bothering looking there0 -
Bury is a nice town to live in. I'd especially recommend Elton.
Has the benefit of good tram networks and a cracking market!0
