Thanks for those links. I was looking for some cheap white stuff for when we too camp out in our 'new to us' house and was wondering about whether those would stay what could be a rather rocky course, with your endorsement, I think I will go for it!
Wilko is FABULOUS for stuff. I bought white crockery years ago and it never breaks or chips and looks great still several years later. I often prefer Wilko to Ikea.

The £100 + vat fee if you complete within 10 days of exchange is usually because it leaves less than 10 working days after exchange to prepare the file, making sure everything is in the file that is needed, order the money from the lender and do all the other jobs that they need to do within the time available. In firms where there are many cases going on, this will mean your file is prioritised because of the urgency and so they charge the fee, merely because other work will be delayed so that yours can be dealt with. With more that 10 days, the work flow can pretty much carry on as normal, therefore the fee won't apply.0

Next would be a microwave, a kettle, cutlery and basically whatever you think essential for you to cook. Then a dining set as you can live without a sofa for a while but probably need something to sit to work or just to use it to do any DIY around the house
Those were the first things I got (plus a sofa). I didn't even have a bed until roughly a month later as I couldn't take time off to stay home for the delivery and sleeping only on a mattress did not really bother me
But be prepared for unexpected bills tho, council tax came around 2 days after I moved in then
You got a sofa instead of bed 1st

Latest update, all the Searches has been received by the solicitor i'm still waiting for the news about the Exchange. Still have no sigh about the contract yet. Now the seller is getting very impatient, although i have been chasing the solicitor via emails & calls, but they never pick up the call at all! I'm getting frustrated of the pressurized pushing by the seller. There is nothing else i can do apart from chasing. Today has agreed with the agent to go back to the flat to take measurement for the furniture. However seller instructed agent not to do so until Exchange has took place. I supposed i still need to check the bathroom has been fixed prior to Exchange as agreed earlier on, thought i can do it in advance at the same time so we wont delay the Exchange in case. But seller mentioned very reluctant to let people entering the property without exchanging & also request assurances from the solicitor that are all in place for exchange. What can i do? As far as I'm aware it is legal for me to go back to the flat as many time as i wish? Can the seller really do that? Now I'm wondering what was the real reason that the seller couldn't wait..0

You are in control here - you are buying.
Just tell your solicitor not to do anything until you have visited the flat and confirm you are happy - and let the estate agent know what you have done.
My suspicion would be that you will visit, and find things you are not happy with......
But that's the gamble with buying houses, better off learning that now!0
