  • Morning all

After having what I thought was a good day yesterday, I awoke at 1.15am to the sound of water dripping in my bedroom. I have a leak in the guttering somewhere and it is coming through my bedroom ceiling. So fed up and down now. Feel as though I am going one step forwards and three back. Trying not to let it get me too down as I have the number for a good roofer - I just hope he can fix it quickly before any serious damage is done.

I was going to go into town today to see if I could get DS's phone for Crimbo but think I should wait and find out the cost of the repairs before I spend any more money.

Blairweech - are you worrying about something subconsciously and its manifesting itself this way, perhaps?

Smashing blouse - hope you don't need surgery on your foot.
Mrs Mix - hope the joints are better today.
(((hugs)))) to everyone who needs/wants one. xx

Been up since 5 here, but not really achieved anything apart from a few loads of washing.
The lodger went out last night & got me to take some photos of her before she went, she wanted them to put on her 'Peggy Sue' profile, I've still not worked out what's going on.
I can't get into the kitchen at the moment as she's cooking her breakfast, 4 eggs, 10 rashers of bacon, with all the fat cut off & an onion, all being vigorously stirred with a metal spoon in one of my non stick pans, I did explain that a wooden spoon would be better, but they use metal back home!
Still the pan will be clean as she is now cleaning it with a metal scourer, like they do back home!!
Todays plan was to sort out the freezer, but she's decided to start making another cake so I'll give that a miss till later.
Hubby & I will go to the fish shop for an hour as we need a new plant for the aquarium.
Hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

  • Morning Guys!!

Had a pretty rough night and spent it on the sofa. Have just woken from an hours sleep with DD looking after me as OH had to go out. She poked me cause she thought I had stopped breathing:D

House is pretty tidy. Another washload done and put on airer. DW needs emptying but has been put on. Chicken is out for dinner (not having lamb as its a huge joint and MIL/FIL didnt need feeding). 5 things listed to Turbolister for the next cheap listing day.

Dont have much energy today for my essay, so will just have a doss day today and do an hour tomorrow evening with me study buddy.

    Anyway, hope everyone is well.

    Hugs to all.

She is a lodger, not a flat share!

Why is she taking over your kitchen and damaging your stuff?

Has she paid her rent yet?

Anyone else would have thrown her out bodily by now as she seems to be taking over your lives, your home is not your own and she is actually costing you money by expecting you to act as a taxi service etc.

The ten rashers of bacon - is she eating enough for a family breakfast by herself and expecting you to pay for it all or is that what she has bought and paid for herself?

Rainy day here so am at the computer before DH gives me a lift to Teco to look for jogging bottoms in navy for DD(13).

Might make shepherd's pie for tea as only half my double oven works!

DH enjoyed the soup yesterday and we still have some he can have for a snack while I am out.

    See you later.

    Afternoon Campers.

A bit gloomy here today, but at least it's fine.
Put a piece of pork into the oven for tea, not tried this cut before..it's a 'spring of pork' and no it didn't bounce all over the kitchen. :D It looked like a half shoulder of lamb...anyway, I've put in to do on low and slow..i did try to fit it into my slow cooker, but it was too big and my slow cooker is only tiny.

Yesterday, I managed to clear the ironing. :j except for one of Miss Twit's tops that was lurking on the radiator. I've got 2 things to be mended, so I might get those sorted today. I watched Footloose on dvd whilst ironing..so that me tapping my toes and jigging about the lounge.

Miss Twit and I are off into town for a wander soon, it's lovely being within walking distance, no messing about with car parks. She needs a new pencil case, I lent her my Ruby Gloom one, and made it clear it was to be returned. We will probably treat ourselves to a Starbucks and I fancy a browse in Waterstones.

I'd better put some more into the slow cooker, ready to make a base for some sort of pasta dish.

    Hugs to all sickies..

Hester...do you think that Peggy-Sue might be a 'working girl'? :rotfl:

As is rainy here all my plans are out of the window, i.e. in to town to buy a few bits etc. tried to do some christmas shopping yesterday only bought three items and that was 3 for 2 at sainsburys. Is it me or is everything out there a bit pants. I cannot seem to find anything decent its all stuff that if I received I would want to give it to charity shops.

    Good afternoon everyone,

Had a bad day here with the children again yesterday - but after sending them to their rooms to think about their behaviour, they then 'posted' notes to me under the sitting room door apologising for their behaviour. It made me cry, as they really are good children, so we had a lovely group hug, and settled down to watch most of Strictly, and then X Factor (we watched the rest of SCD while we had our lunch today).

So far today, we have been very lazy - i found a huge turkey leg in the freezer, so we had that as our roast today, and now the bone and remaining meat are in the SC which i will turn into a stew next week.

Children are going out in a minute with one of the LOs i look after - her dad rang to say would i like an afternoon off (actually no, i love weekends when i actually spend time with them, but i knew they would enjoy themselves, which is just as important) so is taking them to a local play area. I will then (hopefully) finish wrapping their xmas pressies, plus all the ones i bought yesterday for others i needed to buy for. All i need to get now is my mums and her partners, and if money allows, a couple more bits for my 2, but if i dont buy them anything else, it wont matter as i do have more than enough for them. While watching XFactor last night, i wrote out my xmas cards, ive also bought all my xmas food (managed to get a goose in Lidls on Friday) so im now just waiting for xmas to come - and i cant wait to get the decs up, i love Christmas!!!!

((HUGS)) to anyone who wants/needs one.

Hester - glad the wedding went well yesterday, i agree with the others, your lodger needs to realise that she is a guest in your home, and not able to help herself to anything and everything!!!

dlb - hope the footy has gone well, and DD is ok with all the goodies!!! DSs team lost yesterday (prob the reason behind the bad behaviour!!!)

Anyway, better get on, children due to go out anytime now.
    Have a lovely Sunday,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
