Britannia parking PCN

Hello,

I have read the thread from Newbies regarding appealing this PCN but i am not sure about a few things.
i recieved this PCN eight days after contravention occurred.
I parked in Waitrose Mill Hill whose parking is controlled by Britannia and I overstayed by 8 minutes from 8:26am till 11:34am. I was not aware of any parking restrictions which means their signs are very poor. No windscreen ticket was received, but I am unsure how to appeal this PCN. Driver is not identified nor is the current address of the driver.

it is payable for £50 in first fourteen days and £95 within 28 days. Is there a template that I can use to appeal to britannia? and not sure about the whole POPLA thing either..

thank you in advance for your help it is very much appreciated!!!!!!

First step is to post this in the correct forum which is the one for parking problems at the top of the page.

I parked in Waitrose Mill Hill...
I was not aware of any parking restrictions which means their signs are very poor.
Can you read the sign just to the left of the Range Rover?
    https://goo.gl/maps/ry9C5Dz4SWzyy2TX7

    It says...
    "2 hours maximum stay
    no return within 2 hours
exceeding 2 hours stay may result in a £25 charge"
That was April last year, so the charge has clearly gone up since then.

There's also at least two others in that shot alone, clearly visible...

So, no, that excuse is not going to wash.

Adrian’s right. Just lay the fine you’ll know for next time.

I had a similar one last year, same company but different Waitrose. I had actually walked round the carpark looking for the signs and as I didn't see them assumed there were none. I overstayed by 18 minutes.

I followed the instructions that I found on the parking ticket forum and appealed through their website. I was so nervous and really worried that I'd end up paying the double fine, but sure enough within 24 hours I received an email saying they'd let it go this time but not to do it again. I haven't been back to Waitrose since.

Copy and paste the blue writing at the end of the first post. I deleted the bit about photos as they'd already sent me those and about the machine. It's the bit about grace periods which is important if you overstayed.

If you've read the Newbies thread why have you posted in a different section?

You need to post this in the parking tickets section just above this one.

Not necessarily. Several companies send an NTK with charges that bear no relationship to the signs. CP Plus do it at all hospital sites where their charges are restricted for example.

It's a common winning point at POPLA.

Adrian & docmatt are wrong, and need to read the parking forum more often!

Jeez this is NOT a FINE and not to be paid! Do people on the motoring forum actually fall for this scam and pay? Wow, wise up...

To the OP - you CANNOT have got a PCN for an 8 minute 'overstay'. I am guessing the max stay is less than you think.
Is there a template that I can use to appeal to britannia?
    Yes, you saw it already:
I have read the thread from Newbies regarding appealing this PCN

The easiest way to cancel it is, of course, like everyone does. Complain to the retailer.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    'scuse me?

I simply pointed out that the OP "failing" to see the signage did not mean it was poor, and claiming they couldn't have possibly have known about the two hour limit was a cop-out. It's very large and clear to anybody who's actually got their eyes open.

That's a Waitrose sign. It can't be the current one. You wouldn't look twice at a green sign in Waitys.

It doesn't have Britannia on it = no contract with B, if that's the sign. And that would win at POPLA.

Apologies to you if you were not with docmatt in telling the OP (wrongly) to pay. I read it that you were, sorry if I misread your intention.

The OP only needs to complain to the Store manager and/or Waitys Head Office to join all the other complaints currently being made about Britannia.
