Home Insurance Company Attempting to Swindle Me

People come on here for help not judgement. Everyone else has been very helpful without judging, get it?
Oh I get it? But do you?
You have stated that this is the third time in 2 months policies have auto renewed on you.
You have been given sound advice by posters here to check and get in touch before renewal, as policies may auto renew.
But you are still of the opinion that this is a big conspiracy aimed at defrauding you.
And not in any way anything that did or failed to do.
Hope you do much better in your future renewal problems. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -

The tone of your posts comes across a bit "off" if you ask me. The subject line is accusatory in that your are implying (judging) the company is "swindling" you when this is not the case at all.
Lesson learned for you hopefully. You need to be on top of these thing or they will cost you more money. Contact the insurer and tell them you didn't realise it auto renewed and ask (nicely) if they will consider waiving the fee. Remember that most likely it is you and not them that is in the wrong here. If you understand that, you will have a better chance of a satisfactory outcome.0 -

"You have stated that this is the third time in 3 months policies have auto renewed on you." Wrong, would help if you read the post, ironic really!
" this is a big conspiracy aimed at defrauding you." Wrong, when did I say that!?0 -

"the company is "swindling" you when this is not the case at all." Wrong, there is no auto renew, they are attempting to swindle me, or have you read my policy and know different!? "Lesson learned for you hopefully." back at you0 -

"This is the third time in the last 2 months that a similar situation to this has happened! It appears to me that companies are trying to fraudulently get money from me."
Perhaps stop attacking people you have asked for advice and try listening will get you a solution to YOUR problems? The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -

Every day is a lesson, my friend
No, I haven't read you policy (probably makes two of us). But auto renew is industry standard. But if yours wasn't auto renew, but has renewed anyway then should be a fairly open and shut case for you to take up with them. Maybe an admin error on their part? Who am I to judge?
People are only trying to help. Many people have been caught out by policies renewing in this way. From your description, that looked like the most likely scenario based on the information you gave.0 -

Ermmm auto renew is widely used by UK insurers both my home insurer LV and my car company funnily enough who are Admiral (see where I'm going with this OP.....) do it
Maybe try listening to people who have all pretty much advised the same thing rather than assuming you know more than everyone else then you'd realise the companies aren't out to get you, you just need to read what people send you properly. Remember to assume makes an !!! out of you
Oh wait just remember when I did have home insurance with Admiral 4 years ago guessed what happened at renwal that's right they wrote to me and said it would autorenew if i didn't contact them firstFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
It appears to me that companies are trying to fraudulently get money from me.
Appearances, as they say, can be deceptive.
When you check the terms and conditions and find out that you have signed up to auto-renew you'll know why they tried to take payment. No fraud involved.
Do you really think that a company operating in an industry as tightly regulated as insurance could wilfully commit fraud?0 -

Click on RenewalTo make renewing as easy as possible we will automatically renew your policy based on the information you have supplied, unless you have opted out of this feature. If all of your details are correct , then you don't have to do anything.
If you paid for your last year's policy using your own debit/credit card, we will automatically renew your policy and debit the premium from your card on your renewal date, unless you tell us otherwise
If you paid for your policy using someone else's card, please ensure the cardholder is happy for us to debit your renewal from their card again this year.Hi,
I obtained one year’s house insurance from Admiral last year and when it was up for renewal we shopped around and get a better deal. Admiral without my authorisation attempted to take money for the renewal but it was refused by my bank. They have now sent me a bill for £47 for not being able to get the renewal. This is the third time in the last 2 months that a similar situation to this has happened! It appears to me that companies are trying to fraudulently get money from me. The other two I informed I owned them nothing and they dropped the claim. As anyone else had this happening to them? And if so how did you deal with it?
Thanks.
