Evening everyone, been a spendy day as run out of face serum and went to b00ts where I spent £75 on 5 items - a good deal and investment as not only have I stocked up I am delaying the signs of ageing (I hope??!!). Plus got the advantage points which I usually save up for Xmas.
Also bought some essentials from Mr T & got C/card reduction on loo rolls.
Found 3 glass sundae dishes in a CS - been looking for some for ages and happy with my find.
I like Mr C's loyalty scheme too foxgloves - the sum soon builds up
Feeling quite chilly here but will not be putting on the heating. Sent my meter reading a few days ago and was pleased to see i'm in credit.
Also done a couple of UGov surveys.
Happy weekend everyone DxxLBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021

Got offer to go kayaking w friend, but unfortunately this had to be a no - as DS is having math GCSE meltdown, and I ned to sit with him and sort photos (already did all sewing repairs which included in rescuing - school trousers(3 more weeks), jacket (one more year as a dog walking jacket), trousers - happy trousers w flowers on, and a bra!) Morning
looking forward to a slow and relaxing day
Went to a friend's for a bbq yesterday. Was lovely but around 9 I started to feel unwell so we came home and I went to bed. Really hope my ill health ends soon
yesterday I unpicked the sleeve of my top (that I have been doing for ages!) and sewed it back on. Better but still not perfect. My dd came round and pinned it for me so now hoping it's one small alteration and then it's done! Ready for me to wear to work on Weds....
Today:
* all meals from stores
* going to have to nip over to friends and pick up madam's jacket left there. Might go for a walk round there to make it not such a wasted trip!
* do sewing above and have a couple of alterations/repairs for people which I will start. One is right up my street. It is resizing a hoody which is the kind of things I do for fun
* do hw with madam & get stuff for school ready
* get oh to speak to mil re days she can have madam next week and in half term then contact cm and book her in to the other day (s)
* read book
* final coat of gloss on windowsill
then clean up all painting equip and pack it all away in the garage
* start packing up madam's extensive toy collection as I am going to decorate her bedroom. This will be an excellent op to get rid of some things!
* list 5 things on fleabay/facebay
ok think that's all I need to do. Should keep me out of spendings way

This sounds idyllic.Am about to relax with my library book. Mr F has made me an impressively large coffee & cat is trying to work out how he can turf me out of my chair so as to purloin it for himself.
My cat seems to think that she has her own chair - which is fine until we have visitors. You should see the look on her face when she realises her chair is in use!!!
I went to the gym early today (8am rather than my usual 9:30 on a Sunday morning) - they're short staffed at the House, so I'm going to go in and help out and I need to be there for 10:15. I've made my lunch, and I'll get coffee and bikkies there. And it really is a very pleasant way to spend a day - in glorious surroundings, talking with interesting and interested people. People visit us on a day out, so it feels like a day out to me too!!
It looks like it's going to be a lovely day, despite the forecast, so I might end up having to water the garden after all. I'll only water the parts of the garden where the soil looks dry, plus the plants that were only put in last week. The rest can look after themselves until the weather really warms up. Might manage to finish what I started on Friday when I get in (we finish at 4:30 at the latest, so I'm normally home before 5).
Have a good day everyone.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Morning all.
Replacement gate went up as planned yesterday, the only issue I had was that I started painting it in bright sunshine then the inevitable, random heavy shower moved in from nowhere very quickly. I persisted for a while thinking it would stop any minute but no chance, so I abandoned it for the day. Been out to check this morning and...yeah, it could look better. Lots of streaks and paint runs from the rain. Having early lunch now so I can get stuck into it hopefully all day. Have definitely got enough leftover paint in the big tub from last year, so at least I didn’t have to pay extra for that.
Made a batch of bolognese sauce in the slow cooker yesterday, had some for our tea and froze some for another meal at a later point.
Have got supplies to last until Weds so hopefully no shops until then.
Washing all done and on the line now. Surely it can’t rain again today...can it?0 -

Morning all
Big hugs to those who are unwell or just having a carp time of it at the moment xxx
I've zoomed through the thread but intend to have a thorough re-read. I couldn't really post at the weekend as Thursday I was away with work and Friday we were at m-i-l's doing the garden. Then I felt a bit ill on Sat (but seem to be ok now)
MSE happenings over the weekend:
:heartpuls Reconciled budget sheet
:heartpuls Lunches and dinners at in laws
:heartpuls 3 free plants that I dug up at mil's. Hopefully they will transplant ok
:heartpuls Made a shopping list. Off to get it this morning
:heartpuls Found my fave non alcoholic beer reduced to 75p a bottle
:heartpuls Found and killed the huge slug that had eaten 3 plants
:heartpuls Water bill arrived and hasn't gone up
:heartpuls Set fil on an internet mission to find the best price for an item. he's good at this.
Non-MSE happening - lost my head in the garden center. I survived one and came home empty handed but saw stacks of unloved reduced plants at the other. Spent £21. Oops.
Other non-MSE happening - lunch out with friend (budgeted) but also had Dominos for dinner with OH (not budgeted). Still, they have a deal for a small pizza, wedges and cookies for £10.99 at the moment and it was enough for the two of us.
Moving forward today:
:heartpuls B/L/D from stores - done
:heartpuls Eat healthily and mindfully. I am chuffing on weight atm. Keep half-heartedly trying to be sensible but after the mini blowout of the last couple of weekends, I feel ready to tackle this - done
:heartpuls Charge phone in work - forgot my charger
:heartpuls Big shop - stick to list - expensive this week
:heartpuls Check garden - done
:heartpuls No alcohol - done
:heartpuls Crochet - done
:heartpuls Left washing on line. It mizzled overnight but hopefully it will dry today. - done
Have a good one all
