I managed to sneak a visit to the f&v market stall before work this morning so we are once again stocked with healthiness. I made a veggie chilli when I got home, and gave the kitchen a s&s.
I’ve managed to sneak a MAD HH in the garden and sorted out a few pots and seeds.
That’s me done for the evening I think. I have a pile of paperwork but DH is hogging the laptop so I’ll do it another time. Back to conquering the knitting.

    (((Hugs))) Dancemum and Mrs MP.

House looks amazing after all the work yesterday - 5.40 am - 8.50 pm, and loads of stuff that I've been meaning to do for weeks have been completed. There's a load more to do but I'm shattered.

Layla saw her normal vet today for an ongoing digestive problems. He listened to her heart and as well as the murmur he mentioned the problems with rythum the vet found on Monday. He's far more worried about that so is chasing a referral further afield for either an MRI scan or an ECG or both. She's perfectly happy and rather keen to eat anything other than (Kelpie's) turkey and rice on offer, so it was back to L!d1 this morning for more chicken and more cooking.

Stray cat is with us, still hiding, staring at a bowl of Whiskas in a humane cat trap and weighing up its options. It doesn't have options, it just doesn't realise that yet. Woodside Animal Sanctuary have reserved a place for it, so it is a very, very lucky little cat - if only it knew. It's a No Kill rescue that is the only one in the area that deals with strays. I think it's an entire male, and so do they; the niff is a bit of a giveaway. The volunteer I spoke to yesterday was an RSPCA inspector for 30 years, and he arrived with the trap first thing this morning with a colleague. Wonderful people. As soon as it's in the trap I'll take it up there with a cheque and have offered to sponsor it for as long as its in their care.

Meant to post that earlier. It's been a bit of a day again. 5.30 am to 9.40 pm and enough's enough. The stray's still here and is now very hungry so it will go into the trap tomorrow. Feels cruel, but it's for the best.
    Better is good enough.

WM on, finally saw the bottom of the washing basket briefly. Hope work is less chaotic today but not counting on it! At least it’s nearly Friday.

LR and kitchen tidied and bins emptied. Working from home so will do so more of level 1 after shower and breakfast. Have a good day.
  • Morning all,

Running late so quick visit from me. Rubbish out, DW unloaded, washing on line, hair washed and make up on. I've put almost 10lbs back on through very lazy eating habits so back in Slinky as of now. I know how to shift it, have done it before, so it will be gone in no time.

    Have lovely days all x

No flying done yesterday, a full day at work then a lovely long chat with OH. The TV wasn't on so we actually listened to each other.

It looks like DD2 has found an internship/placement for the summer so that is a huge relief, just need to sort out how she is going to get there etc as it's in Ireland out in the sticks! Just waiting for the contract to come back approved by uni and employer then we can get on with the more practical stuff.

Hairdressers this afternoon then onto work so I'd better get on with some flying this morning. There's ironing to be done.

Slinky also needs to get going again here too so I need to tackle that.

Have a nice day, and don't forget to SMILE

    Morning all.

(((Hugs))) to dancemum, mrs-mp, and Honey Bear.

Nice to see you earlier in the week, Lame Wolf.

    Welcome to Newbies

The roofer and his mates have been here since 6.45 this morning, finishing replacing the flat roof over our and our neighbour's back bedroom dormers. They started first thing yesterday, but by 2.00 it had got so hot that they couldn't carry on. He said he'd only ever had to do that once before!

Yesterday I cleaned downstairs and did WMx3, then got called away to deputise for the vicar (who has a chest infection) on home visits, so that took up all afternoon. I also finished my house-to-house collecting for CA Week. Rosie got her walk too, but only a short one, as she hurt her right front paw again whilst chasing a 9-month-old retriever around. There's no sign of injury or swelling, and she doesn't react badly to my touching it, but I brought her home early rather than carry on through the woods.

    Today I must
    - water the veg beds
    - soak the alpines that we bought on Sunday
    - plant some more seeds
    - do WMx2 and hang out 2 days' worth of washing, once the roofers have gone
    - ring the bank (again!)
    - pay the roofer
    - clear my desk (again!)
    - bake cakes for the church fete on Saturday
    - make marmalade ditto
    - clean the kitchen
    - go to a staff meeting, taking some things with me for our Toddlers' stall, so that I don't have loads to carry on Saturday morning
    - take Rosie for her walk
    - plant out the alpines once the sun is off the raised bed
    - experiment with a new, hopefully easy, yogurt recipe
    - start doing the church Gift Aid claim.

Yes, I need to work on Slinky again, too....

Well, I just got in last night and sat down and did not get up again until I heard OH arrive home 2 hours early from work so we just chilled instead.

This means I have to play catch up with two small people in the house for a few days, but tonight I plan to:
    - strip the bed and put the bedding in WM ready for tomorrow (tomorrow should be the last good day for drying outside here)
    - wipe down the bathroom and clean the shower screen
    - empty bins
    - clean out food waste bin
    - descale kettle and shower head
    - clean bathroom mirror

That should keep me above water until Friday, I may end up not having my induction at work until Sunday or next weekend, but I want to give myself the breathing space in case it does end up being Saturday :o

Miraculously I got all of this done! I did a few bits pottering before dinner and then OH decided to take the kids out for a walk as they needed to blow off some steam, I chose to stay behind and make the most of the hour I now magically had! So I managed to do the above and also:

    - Give the oven a quick clean
    - Ironed the clothes that came off of the airer
    - Put a toner on my hair, and a face mask on my face
    - Put a hair mask on my hair following toner
    - Do the washing up from dinner
    - Put some fabric freshener on the beds and sofas
    - Hoovered the kitchen

It truly was a mad hour multitasking all of it, but it was worth it to be caught up :rotfl: washing put on early this morning and out on the airer before I left for work, so will iron whatever needs ironing from that later before I go to the gym :D

    Morning all :hello:

Well all that paperwork sorting on Tuesday was a bust. I still can't find the paper DS wants. My only thought is that it might not have arrived in the first place, or it's gotten mixed up in one of the "Scan then shred" folders or it's in with my business paperwork which is stored elsewhere. I swear I've already been through this once with DS since it supposedly arrived but he's denying it. I shall be introducing him to the joys of a filing system for his paperwork once exams are over. I've shoved all his papers into one document wallet and he can deal with them :rotfl:

However, the two of us have that many medical related letters etc arriving with one thing and another that I've set up a ring binder each to tame it all. I also managed to about halve all the other paperwork by getting rid of booklets ("Time for you tax credit renewal and here is how to do it" in a forest sized booklet etc) and pointless fliers. Why I kept so much I don't know but I'm pretty sure I don't need booklets about being on Income Support 7 years after I came off it :o

Yesterday I lost the day to finishing off the last of the paperwork homing, then sorting through my desk as DS has 'kindly' donated a load of stationary they don't need, plus some adult colouring books. I see some new cover pages for the months in my 2020 bujo :D I then got stuck into work. So apart from dailies not much has gotten done in the house the past few days and today is going to be the same.

Today's plan is to do dailies, have a shower and then head into town. DS has unfortunately put weight on due to meds and needs almost a new wardrobe of clothing  He's going to meet me later when he has free lessons to go shopping as 1 pair of jeans which fit is not enough trousers. Fortunately he basically shops in Pr1mark so hopefully it can be a one shop job. On the other hand I have some errands I need to run so I'm going to try and get those done before he meets me. Normally I'd walk, but I'm going to get a bus pass instead so I don't have to rush quite so much, or walk up a big hill to one of the shops :rotfl:

Tomorrow is DS's last proper day in school ever (so he keeps reminding me) so I plan on having a me day so I can charge my batteries before exams starting on Monday and DS is home until September! Stress makes him a horrible 'housemate' so I foresee lots of days over the next month where I'm just going to get up and go out, maybe even with the dog on some occassions if I'm having a good day.

Going to shift my backside now and do a quick website based shop for the stuff I need to get (so I don't get all confused in the shop) while I wait for the WM to finish. Catch you all later
