Hettyhound said:OMG they are gorgeous!! @ladyholly it is very true about the narrow criteria. I've had a greyhound for the last 22 years but RSPCA and Dogs Trust won't even consider us because my son is 10 and we have a cat
When my beautiful girl Hetty passes (she is 14 now) we will be getting another retired greyhound as RGT are more interested in matching the hound's requirements and personality to the home but I have always wanted 2 dogs. It kind of feels like the right time ish with Hetty nearing her time. Plenty of people know I am interested so I'm certain the right little (or medium sized) one will find it's way home to us.

Well, after an exhausting few days puppy sitting, I came home at lunchtime today. I cooked a veggie roast dinner and then promptly fell asleep after eating for a couple of hours! We then went for a little ride out for a nice walk in the local woods with our dogs and after coming home I made a rhubarb crumble with custard for tea using the rhubarb my dad had given us from his veg patch.
Now for a nice chilled evening with a glass of wine before going back to work tomorrow. It's payday this Friday which I'm looking forward to. BF has said he will give me an extra £50 in board from this month onwards as it's the first month with his new payrise. £350 will go into savings and that total will be what's left to be paid for the wedding all accounted for. I should be able to make around a £300 overpayment to the mortgage as well.
I do need to keep in mind that it is my brothers 40th birthday at the beginning of September, so will need to look out for a nice card and present for him. I need to arrange a date to meet our photographer to talk about what we want from our wedding photos, but we do have a voucher for a pet photoshoot with him that we got as a Christmas present, so I'm hoping to kill 2 birds with 1 stone there. Then I just need to sort out what music we want for the guests being seated at the wedding, for me to walk down the aisle to and then leaving music.
Lots to do but not a huge amount of energy to do it at the moment 😂

Be kind to yourself and dont try to do too much. Puppy sitting is hard work. Take a couple days off from extras and just do what has to be done. All sounds good on the money front.

The past week has gone by so quickly!
We picked all the music for the wedding and got the form sent off to the registrar. We now just need to download the music and send to our wedding venue, so they have it ready to play.
BFs suit got delivered and fits well. All good there! He now just needs a white shirt and a lilac tie.
I went for a job interview last week and although I don't think I got the job, it was nice just to have the experience. I also don't think I would take it even if I did get it. I would take a pay cut and have to commute by bus, but I thought I'd regret it if I didn't go, so overall a positive experience.
We got paid on Friday, so £360 transferred to savings to total £2,500. This will pay for the last of the wedding with a little left over. We've asked for money as a wedding gift, so we can put it towards a delayed honeymoon next year.
Mortgage wise, I have made an overpayment of £359.08 which has taken the new total to £41,200. Getting close to the target of under £40k by the end of year 😃Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
