Thanks Vix and NG ❤
It's the weekend again! How time flies! Work has been busy and a bit stressful as usual but I'm trying to change my attitude towards it. I have this mortgage, I want to get rid of it, so we can move to a forever home. I have a job that isn't great but it's a job and a lot of people haven't been as fortunate, so let's get rid of this mortgage! I therefore paid £1000 off it today after being paid yesterday. This takes it to £61,780.54 and I will never go over £62k again! Woohoo! My usual payment of £331.31 will go out Monday and I will then make a small payment to round it down to the nearest £10. This means I've met my target of getting under £62k by the end of the year and I could still get under £60k if I push it! 😀
I still have £1,500 in my savings, which isn't a terrible amount and could see us through an emergency if required.
Streaming of video games is going well and I hope to reach the £100 payout by the end of the year. Christmas shopping is nearly all done and only 3 presents left to buy. My mum has invited us to be in her and my dad's Christmas bubble, so I won't have to cook Christmas dinner! We're hopefully getting BFs son the week before Christmas and taking him home 23rd or 24th, so will see BFs family then and we then get to chill out at home after eating at my parents Christmas day.
I'm going to clear out some books for ziffit tomorrow for a few pounds and I've cashed out £5.34 from prolific.
I'm still struggling with the loss of dog 1, I miss him dearly. Dog 2 is being spoilt rotten because I'm worried she's missing him too. A colleague at work told me a friend of his rescues whippets, so another one may be on the cards at some point!
Hope everyone is well and keeping safe xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks SC 😀
A colleague quit unexpectedly the other day and just walked out! I've been given her work to do, which is annoying because I'm now doing two people's jobs, but I have been told some of the customer care work might be taken off me, so if I play my cards right I could end up doing the other job full time (which quite frankly is a walk in the park!) and minimal customer complaints! Fingers crossed anyway!
I didn't get round to doing ziffit, we took the dog for a nice walk round the local woods and then went to the garden centre and got a lovely food hamper for my grandparents. Only 2 presents left to buy! The Christmas tree went up when we got home, after the rough time we've had lately, we needed some cheer 🎄Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

All sounding more positive here Jessy which is lovely to hear. I think trying to avoid walking out is probably best at the moment - I know my sister has been looking for a new job to no avail and there's always the risk that last in = first out, so if you can reframe it and stick with it, it's probably for the best for the time being. Hope you get lucky with the new work!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I always think it's also easier to get a new job if you're already in a job - so hang on in there if you can!

Hi Hetty, I'm doing alright, thanks. Still missing dog 1 but just trying to get on. I'll be glad when 2020 is over!
In MSE news, the £1k overpayment went through and the new total is £61,449.21. The monthly payment has been reduced to £322.77. I can't wait to get it under £300 a month 😀,

I've paid off the £49.21 so the new total is £61,400. I will need to pay off £600 in December to get under £61k and stay there. It's tight but doable. I won't meet my super target of getting under £60k by the end of the year but I'm pleased with the progress I have made. My target in the mfw challenge was £5k and I paid off £5,322.45, so I'm really happy! I'll have to have a think about my 2021 targets now 😀Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
