What do you want the printer for? Mainly photos or is it colour documents? Do you want to print A4 or larger?
When you want cheapest ink, is that for genuine cartridges or compatibles?
If compatibles, Epson printers seen to be best for this - http://www.scan.co.uk/ sell very cheap compatible cartridges that I've never had any problems with. Stay away from Canon printers - not because they are bad, but no one is able to copy the chips on the cartridges, so you have to transfer the chip from an original cartridge to the compatible, which is as hassle if you are getting through a lot of ink.
You could consider a continuous ink system - I have these now on all three of my printers - have a look elsewhere on this forum for more info - search for CISS. I've bought mine from https://www.9to6.ie and https://www.cheapprinterink.co.uk. I've found the latter one to be better, and I'm going to replace the one from 9to6 with another one of their systems - both canon printers.
I've also tried refillable cartridges from efillink, but they didn't work in the printer, although they have had a lot of good reviews for their CISS - have a search on the web for them.0 -

you would prob be best sticking with an epson printer as these usually have cheap carts0

Go for a printer with 3 individual colour cartridges and a black cartridge.....will work out cheaper in the long run0

We bought the epson r 360 (may be a different model and price now though) at 80 quid and pay for cartridges from ebay at 6 quid for the 6 replacement ones the printer is brill I would not recommend it otherwise .xXx-Sukysue-xXx0

I have a hp photojet which takes 3 different types of cartridges and as Mervyn said, it works out cheaper in the long run. I did at first buy the hp ones but the last lot I got were in Tesco (own brand - tells you on the packet which models it fits) and it was half the price. From memory about £12 a cartridge I think.0

I've had my eye on one of these, i was going to get from ebuyer for £63.53,
i would rather pick one up from pcworld than wait for delivery.0 -
@dice99uk
pcworld offer price match +10% of the difference
