Hello, I am new here and looking for advise!
I am about to pay off my holiday (£6K ish) and im wondering if it is worth getting a credit card purely to gain some cash back/vouchers as its such a lot of money. we don't have any other credit cards..... can anyone recommend a card with some good deals on at the moment or point me in the right direction to look!
many thanks!

If you have a thin history, you probably won't get a decent rewards card (or the limit).
Try an eligibility checker. After that, it's down to what you value - cash, vouchers, Nectar points, Air Miles etc.0 -
A cash back card offering 0.5% cash back would yield you back £30 on a £6000 spend.
£6000 could get you more in Avios points depending on the points per pound allowance.
Use an eligibility calculator to see what you’re eligible to apply for and then go from there.0 -
£30 surely?A cash back card offering 0.5% cash back would yield you back £360 on a £6000 spend.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Credit Cards, Savings & investments, and Budgeting & Bank Accounts boards. Corrected - i was working it out annually not one spends worth.0 -
As you don't already possess any credit cards the chance of getting a good cashback or rewards card and/or a sufficient credit limit is unfortunately pretty slim.0

When you say you are going to pay 'off' your holiday, I assume you mean you are about to pay 'for' your holiday. So, if you manage to get any credit card to accommodate this amount would you be able to pay it off in full any time soon? If not, you might be better off looking for credit cards that offer 0% on spending for a few months/years because the value of your rewards would most likely be outstripped by the interest you would pay on the debt.
Obviously if you do have the wherewithal to clear the debt sharpish then, by all means look for a rewards card.0 -
Thanks everyone! Will have a good web search but it might not be worth it by the sound of it!0
