Wow, you sound so positive! Since I'm going to start matched betting and quidco in earnest, I'm gonna join you in your challenge. That would mean I'm debt free and have money saved up for the electrics and the plumbing by this time next year. That'd be nice.... off to bed to dream of more ways to make a mint.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi Pania :santa2:, I am fairly new on here so didn't get to follow you last diary but I must say you sound very positive and I wish you the best of luck with the new diary.
BTW - I am with you on the phone thing, I do that too, no excuse really with two portable phones but both always see to end up in DS's bedroom and I can't be a**ed to walk upstairs sometimes.Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -
Hello Pania! Just spotted the new diary and pleased to see the positive energy. I could so do with some of that myself.
I'd love to join you in the pay-off-£15k challenge but there are too many uncertainties next year. But will follow your progress with interest and cheer you on.
It's so fab about the dog training, I'm sure you can make good money doing that.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
thanks squirrel!! it is a pain, especially when i have an all expenses paid phone line upstairs for work!! Part of my new positivity is a fitness kick which hasn't been mentioned here, maybe I should view walking up the stairs as helping me to get fit!!!!
So, I have just mentioned to OH my "little challenge" for the next 12 months. It was quickly declared as "Impossible" and i am "insane" for thinking i can do it! yeah whatever i'll show him!!!!!!
Off for a walk in a minute to start the fitness kick, not quite up to running yet but soon.... I have a stone to loose doncha know!!! was weighed by the docs the other day... bad, very bad... I only have a stone to loose but thats a stone too much!!!
Great news on the weight loss so far GTD, your doing great! :-)
Right my theory is this. I am going to tackle my northern rock loan first. Reason for this is that aside from rent and fuel it is my biggest outgoing per month. Although it isn't the debt that would be suggested on my snowball to get shot of, £274 will absolutely steam through the other smaller debts once the Nrock loan has gone. So to stick to target i should pay £825 per month off nrock which means it will take approx 7 months to clear northern rock.
it has exactly 18 months left to run so I may even get a settlement figure on it which means it will be cheaper than this. woohoo!!
what are peoples thoughts on this or should i overpay every debt across the board?
Also should i do it as regular overpayments or stick it in an account i can't touch and ask for a settlement figure in 5 months?
help!! decisions decisions!!debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
