How about going onto saynoto0870 tomorrow, and listing all the alternative numbers to those that you are currently ringing? You will still get through to the same dept but on a normal area code which then won't cost you as much?

Check out "saynoto0870" (I think there's a link from the MSE main site) It doesn't just list 0870 numbers but a lot of non-geographic numbers (including 0845) as well. I tend to use it as a checker (can I call a geographic number and get a free call, rather than pay 5 - 10p a minute to a non-geographic lo-call number)!

some of the lenders that we use deliberatley leave us on hold to, all ways to bump up the profit margin! grrr, will definately be doing this tomorrow and seeing what I can find. thanks guys .
