Good luck with your new diary and your challenge for next year! I'm sure you'll hit it without problems!

Wish we'd known a canine trainer when we had Bonnie (lovely dog, mad a hatter though). She'd behave perfectly for me (walking to heel on or off the lead) but the number of times Wayne came home alone and sent me out to retrieve her cos she wouldn't come back for him... If I'd had £1 for each time I'd be a couple of grand better of!!!

    OK, my SOA,

based solely on my income. OH and I run our finances as seperate ships so this is everything i pay for. you will note that some bits are missing as OH pays for bills and majority of food whereas I cover the rent, work have installed Broadband and pay the bill for that each month hence why also not mentioned on the SOA.

Petrol is vastly work related, I reclaim mileage above this amount of part of my salary per month.

I am paid basic, mileage and comission so have posted the LEAST that i would expect to be paid on a month with basic mileage and total basic pay. anything extra I plan on putting towards debt.

    Income (25th each month)

btwn £1850 and £2400 (paid last month, ALL went on car!! )

    outgoings

    Rent £525
    Food £50
Mobile £100 (all work calls, ongoing dispute between us employer over who should pay it, but for now thats lowest, (£40 pm for 1250 mins+calls to 0845 lender numbers:mad: )
    pet insurance £10.81
pet costs £40 (for dear pony during winter, £10 during summer!)
Barclays £10 (savings for nieces either birthdays or long term)
    Petrol £300 (please don't faint)
    Car insurance £29.81

    Total £1065.62

    Debts

Northern Rock £274 Outstanding balance £4954
Nationwide £90 (Fredrikson int) Outstanding balance £14370
Welcome Finance £126 Outstanding balance £2021
Nationwide CC £40 (Robinson Way) Outstanding balance £1310.30
Halifax CC £46 (Blair oliver scott) Outstanding balance £2423.71
Halifax Loan £31 (as above) £1134
Provident £42.50 2 months more to go!!
Training debt £50 Outstanding balance £1558

    Total 699.50

    Total £1765.12

    Surplus £84.88 - £634.88

So as you can see on a basic month it is tight and I have to hope that there are no birthdays that month!! but on a good month the overpayments should be massively acheivable. To pay off the 15,000 i'd need to pay £1250 per month off my debt, rather than the £699 that I am at the moment.

I however know of a young lady on these ere boards who pays almost this amount alone through quidco and ebay and other fantastically inventive measures. And then of course there is the influence of james240 who has MB'd his way to nearly 4k this year alone and who has provided inspiration to this challenge.

God i need to get my finger out!! Righto guys, do your worst on the SOA!

  • Just wanted to wish you good luck with your challenge, I only found this website last month and will be setting myself some mini challenges throughout 2008 (this will be MY year)

The good thing about my budget at the minute is that I'm only taking into account my maternity pay, but when I go back to work in July I'll be getting at least £100 more which will be used towards debts, not to mention the extra tax credits and child benefit I will receive.

Will be waiting for your progress reports xx

yep, throw the damn thing in the sea!! I'm hoping that I can get it down to nearer £80 each month if i don't have to call any bloomin 0845's while on the road!! that is one thing i need to concentrate on. At the mo i hold my breath each month that i open the bill. I think a log of calls which are outside the free call remit may be required but prob is could i keep up with it?
