A better day today - school was quiet and I managed to get some work done this afternoon. Rang my family whilst driving home so that's another job out of the way and the Next return has been collected so that's money back in the account.

Got home fairly early and took the dogs to the park for an hour for a good run around - they're really good off the lead now and come back when called. Good job I took them when I did as the heavens opened not long after we got back and it monsooned for about half an hour, literally bouncing off the floor.
Waiting for pup no 2 to be picked up around 7.30 - cant be doing with a confrontation tonight so will just get it over with and look forward to having a quiet evening with pup no 1.

Withdrew cash from the cashpoint for the dog walker who I pay on a Friday. Will leave it out for her in the morning. She's brilliant with them and sends photos and videos of them a couple of times a week and they absolutely love her so it's money well spent.

Having a quorn lasagne and salad for tea to use stuff up from the fridge and will potter around a bit, watch some telly and maybe have a bath but it's very muggy so might not bother.
Friday tomorrow at last ..... Can't wait for the weekend, I am exhausted.

Well I survived the week .... Just!
Still no progress with OH but I have told him that we're done unless something big changes. He sulked then has slowly started texting but it's Friday night, we're not together and I'm really not that bothered. Think this may very well be it. Quite proud of myself for sticking to my guns.

Anyway, got home fairly early, took the dog for a good run around in the park and then cleaned the entire house so I don't have to do it tomorrow. It's nice knowing that everything is clean and tidy, the washing is all done (done two loads including the dogs bed and blankets etc) and the only really chore left to do is picking up a few bits at lidl on the weekend. It's a very minimal shop as it's payday on Monday and I refuse to buy any more than I need to last me this coming week.

I've cancelled a night out next Saturday with my old work colleagues - OH will be going as its the end of term do and I don't want to be awkward or feeling like everything I do is being scrutinised so I'm going out with my closest friends from there another time. I really am determined to not give in this time.

No big plans for this weekend but I've been pondering driving to North Wales tomorrow (about 50 mins) to a lovely little quiet beach I know with a dog friendly cafe to show the mini woofer the sea for the first time and let him have a play on the beach. If it's dry and fine and I'm not too tired in the morning it could be a plan.

I need to do a couple of runs and generally look after myself and recouperate this weekend - I've just about run out of steam.
Going to watch some telly, have a glass of wine and an early night. Looking forward to bed ......

Morning all! Had a good undisturbed sleep but woke up at the normal time to go to work (5am) and was wide awake.
Got up and tidied the dry washing away, watched a home improvement show and got some good ideas for my barren back garden and then went for a good brisk 30 min walk with the dog.

I've weighed this morning and have lost 5lbs since last weekend! Think some of it was post trip bloat draining away but I have tried to be good this week and it's paid off :)
Would like to lose another stone over the summer so it's a good incentive to carry on. Now the dog is a bit bigger and walks well on the lead I can get back into my usual minimum of an hour or so of walking a day. I enjoy being outdoors and it always makes me feel better in myself when I've had some time away from work and the house so it's beneficial all round.

I've also had a quick review of the banking and have moved some money around so I'm not overdrawn before pay day on Monday. I still need to reclaim my expenses (the finance manager was away this week so couldn't do it) so about £100 will go back into my account eventually.

It's dry and overcast at the moment so I think I'm going to have a shower and spruce myself up a bit, put some petrol in and drive over to the beach.
Other jobs that need doing include grocery shopping, cleaning the car, booking a hair appointment and giving the conservatory a deep clean inside and out. I like being busy and am not very good at doing nothing so I'm sure I'll end up doing a few more things too.

Have you got 1 or 2 weeks left of term? Being outside is definitely a tonic after the classroom! I love outdoor learning because it really helps those children who struggle being indoors all the time.

Hope you get to the beach. First trips to the beach are such fun with dogs! One of ours went racing across the beach and managed to end up in quite a deep rock pool. Had to learn to swim fast!

Just one week left now Honeysuckle - and it can't go quickly enough!
We finish at lunch time on Friday.

I did go to the beach with the pup. It was quite cold and windy (bracing in fact!) but we both really enjoyed it. He was so funny seeing sand for the first time. We did a good hour long walk and then went to a lovely little cafe for brunch - I had a veggie breakfast and the dog had his first ever sausage - a day of firsts for him. Unsurprisingly, he slept the whole way back :)

Got home about 1pm and watched the tennis - I'm not a big fan so about an hour is the length of my endurance. Then went to do the grocery shopping at tesco rather than lidl as I needed puppy food that they don't sell there. Tried to be frugal and only bought what I absolutely needed plus a cheap bottle of wine.

OH has decided that he doesn't want to talk about things and so I've officially given up. Told him that we don't have a relationship and it's all one way so I can't do it anymore. This was all by text as he refuses to talk. Don't think he liked it that I went to the beach without telling him but I'm fed up of waiting around and doing what he wants me to do.
I'm not going to dwell, it won't make anything better.

The dog is starting puppy classes tomorrow afternoon - his brother was going too but I've been told he'll find another class (!) so it's just me and the mini woofer. Looking forward to it. Should be fun.
No big plans for the rest of the day - I'll clean the inside of the car in a bit and maybe the conservatory if I can be bothered. Going to possibly watch a film or something on Netflix later and will have to do another shortish dog walk after tea.
I'm just getting on with life.....

Sorry to hear the way your other half is behaving. For someone in a responsible management position he doesn’t seem to be very mature when it comes to relationships. After all the time you have been together he doesn’t even want to talk about things. How does he think you can find a way forward without communicating. As I said previously you deserve much better. It may be hard to begin with and take a bit of adjustment but you should get on with living your life. You have lots of other interests to invest your time in and who knows what or who is just around the corner.

    Thank you Moneywhizz.
I'm annoyed and angry at the moment - not upset, surprisingly. I've received a few texts since, I feel like they're designed to make me feel guilty and give in. They're not working.....

Have had an hour in the garden after cleaning the car and caught up on the last two episodes of Gentleman Jack - really enjoyed the series. Just watching an episode of the new series of Designated Survivor then I'm off to bed, with my phone on silent. Tomorrow is a new day.....

    Morning all!
Slept fairly well, woke up at 4.30 but forced myself to stay in bed and managed to drift off until 6.45 again. I can't remember the last time I was in bed so late! Hopefully the summer holidays will mean I can retrain myself to sleep more.
No further contact from himself yet - I'm not going to contact him.

Pottered around a bit and then took the dog to his favourite park for a run - met a Labrador puppy the same age who was twice the size but they quickly became best friends :) Lots of puppy style rough and tumble.
Have also done a 5km run - felt like hard work at the beginning but soon settled into it. Pleased that I did it and will go again a few times this coming week.
It's the school fun run on Tuesday and I've volunteered to run with the kids so can't look like an old nana doing it! Think it's 5km but will find out tomorrow.

Going to give the conservatory a good clean (with a canine helper no doubt) and then have a bath. It's puppy school at 1.30 - looking forward to it. Not sure what to expect as its 15 years since I last took a puppy and we got expelled for being too excitable :) God bless the old woofer.....
Will report back on how it goes later.

Expelled for being too excitable...don't think the nutty mutts here would make it to enrolment then :rotfl:. Hope you have a good time at puppy class :D.

I've commented on (X)OH before so not sure of my ground here, but he does seem to expect you to do all the running and make exceptions/effort for him - the pups being just the last example. I wish he'd talk to you about it though, it does seem immature.

Hope puppy school was good - when we took ours he was just completely overexcited and weed inside - but he did get there in the end and it certainly helped train him. He's a well behaved 10yr old - well for a terrier, selective deafness and jumping at anyone in pale trousers will always out occasionally. One week to go - do you have summer plans?
