Thank you Honeysuckle,Starmummy, Joey and Buffy!
Just a day and a half to go now.... Thank the Lord!
It's like a test of endurance now.....

Not a bad day today - managed to get home fairly early and the dog is much better now. He's almost back to normal again. Eating like a pig and making up for lost time.
Done two walks since coming home - a park run around and then, after tea, a half hour brisk walk. He's fast asleep on my lap now :)

Popped to the cashpoint and got the dog walker's money out for later in the week and some cash to contribute to a leaving present for the Head. No other big financial news today. Just a normal day.

Little victory - the dinner ladies at work saved me some yummy cheese pie to take home for my tea as I missed lunch (bless them!) so no need to cook other than opening a small tin of beans to go with it. Small things please me ;)

To balance things....the dog has chewed through my hairdryer cable. It wasn't plugged in so no drama but it's now in the bin. I have an old back up dryer so can cope for now but will need a new one.
Talk about giving with one hand and taking away with the other ,,,, :)

Sorry to hear about the exOH MT, but I really do think it's for the best based on what you've said over the past year or so. He did seem to take you very much for granted and seemed to leave you hanging at times and you are worth much more than that. From reading your diaries, there seemed to be a repetitive pattern in his behaviour of going cold on you for a while and then being attentive the next. I often used to think it didn't sound very fair on you and you deserved a lot better.

I'm one to talk though atm! I'm having OH issues, but never seem to take my own advice... :o

As someone else said, you come across as a very capable, independent and lovely person and I too wish I had a friend like you in real life! You will kick &ss at living the single life and hopefully feel much happier and well balanced for it!

Lots of love and luck MT

    Evening all...
Finally school has finished....And not a minute too soon.
Got home about 1.30, had to wait for the dog walker to bring the woofers back then dropped OHs pup off at his house so I didn't have to see him (he worked later than me) and went to sainsburys for a few little bits including hair dye and Argos to get a new hair dryer. Got a bit of a bargain and used a voucher I'd been sent by the dog insurance so it only cost £4.99. The shopping came to £15 so not too bad either.

Having a quiet evening - telly, wine and a bath are the order of the night.
Thinking about the next 6 weeks and trying to come up with a plan.....
  • Hi MT
Long time lurker here :o another supporter of the way you've handled things with exOH and just wanted to wish you well.

Sounds like the summer holidays will be a perfect opportunity to take stock and think about what your next steps will be (as well as enjoying life with the pup of course :) ) x

Thank you DancingintheRain - great to see you stopping by!

Well, after a mini lay in until 6am (I'm a rubbish sleeper and my back hurts if I'm in bed for too long) I got up and pottered about a bit then took the dog to the big park for an hour. As soon as I got home it chucked it down again so decided to give the house a good clean. Have hoovered and dusted everywhere, cleaned the kitchen, sorted the bins and recycling and tidied the bedroom. I've also stripped and washed the bed and done a load of additional washing.

The weather cleared up a bit so have been for a run - it was a real slog today but it's done now. Think the last week has caught up with me. Pleased that I've done it though as I really didn't feel like it.

Took a long look at myself in the mirror this morning and was horrified! I look tired, pasty and flabby. Need to sort myself out. So, in addition to the run, I'm going to have a good soak in the bath, de fuzz, do a face scrub, sort my nails and dye my roots.

Have had a look at what's on in the cinema as I've found 5 free cinema tickets that I forgot I had. Not a lot on that's not a kids film or has superheroes in it - will see how I feel a bit later on.

Quite proud of myself as the Alexa thingies upstairs and downstairs had inexplicably stopped working but I've managed to fix them :) not sure how I did it but they now work!

Project Get A Grip about to start..... ;)

All preening done, and while I don't look very different I feel better. :)
Just back from a really long walk with the pup - he has limitless energy! I'm up to almost 20,000 steps today!
Called in the shop on the way back for a bottle of wine and some treats and managed to spend just £10 and got wine, some sweets and 12 cans of diet sprite - had to carry it all home but that's at least some of the cals burned! ;)

OH has been texting trying to build bridges - he's out on a works do so I assume that at least some of it is alcohol fuelled....
If he wants to apologise properly when he's sober he can but I don't expect him to.
    Onwards and upwards....

Going to make a list of things that need doing over the summer - I love lists and ticking things off.....

    Morning all!
Feeling a bit fragile this morning - had a big verbal altercation with exOH last night and barely slept. He said lots of hurtful things and then spent the rest of the night ringing and texting apologising and begging me not to end it. I'm not surprised by his actions. Not pleasant though.

So, trying to put it behind me and therefore got up and took the dog for a long walk around a local water park and nature reserve to blow away the cobwebs. Pup thoroughly enjoyed it and the sunshine and fresh air did me good.
I'm glad it's a nice day today as its the dog training club fun day this afternoon - no formal training today but lots of games and activities instead. Will be a nice afternoon out doing something that makes me happy.
Need to pop in to the pet shop on the way for more food and a new lead - they don't allow extending leads at the club so need another one.

I'm supposed to be going on a staycation with exOH and the dogs tomorrow - that's not going to happen now. I've offered it to him to go alone but I won't be going with him.

Not sure what to do with the coming week yet - might go home to Wales for a short while - my parents are nagging me to go home and I could probably do with a change of scene.
Will see how I feel a bit later on before making any decisions.
Too tired for a run today but will do plenty of walking instead.

Going for a soak in the bath and to try to make myself look less like the walking dead.... ;)

It must be so difficult for you to deal with the OH behaving like this. Once you have made the break it is so much easier if you don't have to have any contact. Seriously what would change if you went back again. He only seems able to make an effort for a little while and then things go back to how they were. He probably realises what a mistake he has made but it also seems like he wants to have you around just when it suits him. Not a good basis for a relationship. Hope you enjoy your fun day with the pup.
