Hope you have a lovely time in Wales and the weather becomes a bit more settled - I swear I've gone through at least two seasons today.

Had a nice day so far

Just a mini moan - I dropped the bag of stuff off at the charity shop and didn't even get a thank you. Grrrr!!!! Now I don't expect a trumpet fanfare but the common courtesy of a small thank you is just good manners. All I got was "leave it there" as she turned away.... They won't be getting my donations again
Not earth shattering in the grand scheme of things but it did annoy me. Rant over!

Hello, reading through your diary, and just wanted to say this bit just resonates with me, in the last half hour I dropped sone stuff in and although I did get a thank you she then went on to say I will just move it out the doorway so nobody trips over, I had put it just inside the door to the side, I felt as if I had been ticked off, I turned straight around and walked out, there was more in the car, someone else is going to get it !

PS now have got to the end and can I echo my relief that you stood firm and strong and now are a fabulous single lady, your X (OH) didn’t deserve you.

I hope the summer brings refreshment ready for all sorts of new adventures in the autumn.

re the fitbit strap, depending on the model etc, im sure they recalled / replaced for free them because of a design fault.

although you may have fallen foul of that by diy attempts, its worth a look on their page / google though to see if it applies.

    Hello from Wet Wales :)
Yesterday wasn't too bad but today has been torrential showers on and off.
Never mind - that's Wales for you ....
Had a nice time with family, went to Cardiff Bay yesterday and then to the seaside with the dog for a nice walk and a late lunch. Today's plans changed due to the weather. Ended up browsing in some shops and generally pottering about. Spent £3.50 on a pair of jeans in the sale (haven't tried them on but for that price it's not the end of the world if they don't fit) and £10 in the pound shop on some household items. Also, popped to Lidl to pick up some basics for the week - £9 spent.

Driving back in the morning - should be home by lunchtime barring any traffic disasters.
  • Safe journey home tomorrow MT. What a shame about the weather, we’ve gone from heatwaves to flood warnings in the Midlands, it’s crazy weather at the moment!

    I'm back!
Set off after dropping mum off to go on a trip at 8.30 and had the best drive back I've had in years. No hold ups and even the road works on the M6 were clear thankfully. I usually stop but the dog was asleep and the traffic was good so just ploughed on and managed it in just over 3 hours.

It looks like it's going to pour down soon so will spend a bit of time at home unpacking and having a long soak in the bath. My back is bad (pinged it during puppy training on Sunday, felt like an elastic band snapping) and so a hot bath might do it good. It's much better than it was but I'm still walking a bit like Mrs Overall :)
Also need to take the dog for a good long walk later but will wait until it's cleared up.

Will be back later with a financial update and some plans.....

    Welcome home MT.

I live in Wales and we have had an on and off couple of days weather wise (Nothing we can't handle mind) but we have had a gorgeous 2 weeks of lovely weather before that. It's been funny today with glorious sunshine then tipping down.

Love reading your journey through life MT and we are the same age so it's even more interesting.

    Keep going girl!!!!

Thank you Bingbunny! I've been living up north for over 20 years now but always see myself retiring back to South Wales somewhere by the sea, probably as a mad old lady in wellies, living alone surrounded by dogs :)
