What a Year.....Climbing Back on the Wagon

Morning MT you’re an early bird this morning! I’ve been up since about 5.30am too, I’ve got an ageing cat who likes to wake me up! I’ve been pottering around before I go into town later. I’m meeting a friend at a little cafe that does the most amazing home made scones. Last time I had a beer, cheese and caramelised onion scone with tomato chutney last time it was delicious.
Well done on the weight loss, I think you’ve given it me......I really need to start being a bit stricter with myself, I’m on a downward spiral and I need to get a grip....maybe the scones later aren’t a good idea!!
Looks like the weather is improving this weekend so hope you get out for some lovely walks and fresh air with your woofer. Have a lovely weekend.0 -
Thank you Maryland - the scones sound delicious! I'm starving this morning so you're putting ideas into my head
Done a 2km walk with the mini woofer and then a 5km run. The run felt much better this morning, could have gone a bit further but had arrived back home.
My earphones have gone a bit wonky and intermittent so looked on line for a replacement then remembered that I had a new pair that came with a phone that have never been used and, after a bit of hunting around, finally found them. No need to buy new. Whilst rummaging, I also found an adaptor for the car to charge the phone (was going to buy one) and another charger for the house. Bonanza!
There's a fun dog show on this afternoon at the pub I had lunch in yesterday - might pop over for a nosey later. Also need to get stuff ready for my trip to Wales tomorrow - other than that no big plans. The weather looks quite nice so the day will probably include a lengthy dog walk (with a short one this evening too) and a sit in the garden with a book if it stays dry. I have a fairly busy day tomorrow with puppy class and a long drive so am quite happy to potter today.0 -
Been to the dog show for a couple of hours - saw a neighbour there with her dog that I don't know very well even though we've lived close to each other for years. Ended up chatting with her for ages and she's really nice. We've agreed to meet on Thursday to take the dogs out or go for a run together (she saw me running past her house this morning and wants to start too). She's about the same age as me and divorced with a grown up daughter so we have a bit in common. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves too.
So, all in all, a successful afternoon
Spoke to mum who's very excited about me going home tomorrow - will do us both good to spend some time together, even if she does drive me mad after a while0 -
Sounds like you are managing to fill your time doing stuff you enjoy. Amazing how new friendships start when you are least expecting it. Enjoy your trip home to see your family.0

Sounds like you had a fab time at the dog show, and how great that you’ve formed a new connection with your neighbour.
Have a lovely time in Wales with your family x0 -
Thank you Moneywhizz and Maryland. I did have a good time and was really glad I made the effort to go. Sometimes you just have to seize the day
OH invited us over for some food last night - we went but came home after a few hours. Feels very stilted and awkward. We're talking but only about inconsequential things. No progress so just doing my own thing.
Didn't sleep very well afterwards, lots of strange dreams.
Never mind, today is a new day.
Have taken the dog for a walk and was planning to go for a run but my legs feel very tired and a bit stiff. Might see how I feel in an hour and maybe do a short one. Maybe.....
So, the pup and I are off to Wales this afternoon after puppy class. Hopefully the weather will hold long enough for it to be on this week. It will be a long drive (approx 3.5-4 hours) so I'd like to tire him out so he sleeps in the car. He usually does though - put him in his booster seat and he's unconscious in minutes, just like a baby!
Going to do a quick Hoover and dust (hate coming home to anything other than a clean and tidy house), a quick bit of ironing and pack.0 -
