    Morning
It's lovely to walk in to a kitchen that is not piled up with dirty pots :D And I still smile at the stairs as I go up/down - carpet looks like new now the dust bunnies have gone!

Got the eebie jeebies this morning / still - that's partly fretting about the airport pick up on Saturday (I did give myself a talking to, but it didn't work :(), partly because a colleague is moving in to the office I had to myself last week - I try to get on with everybody at work as best I can but this one is notorious for running to managers at every slight, real or imagined, and prides herself on calling a spade a spade (but doesn't like it when you turn round and call a shovel a shovel :(), and partly because we begin the paperless pilot today - but that can't be bothering me much as I've only just remembered we're doing it :rotfl:

Freezer made some very strange noises when I turned it back on last night - but seems to be running ok this morning. I thought that would be just my luck - defrost the freezer and break it :o Not so :D

Wishing you all a good day. Lots of hard times in the room - hugs to all.

    Good morning
I have a list which is off piste but let’s see how I go. DH and DD have left for the day and DH is out this evening, so I’ve little excuse not to crack on.
The decorating of the RoD is on hold as I ran out of paint on Saturday which was...annoying. DH has promised to get some more tomorrow after work, as from home it is a 30+ mile round trip. That’s one job temporarily off the list.
Bathrooms and kitchen floor are this morning’s priority, so I’d better make a start.
    Have a lovely day all.
ETA - Round - hoping your work day is better than anticipated x

    Hhhrrrmmmppphhh.

Last night, just as I was going to bed, DH said, "Did J copy you into the email he's just sent me to say that the synod meeting is tomorrow evening?" "Er, no. Whaaaaaaat???? It was supposed to be on 15th!" 24 hours' notice for an important meeting is simply not acceptable  In a rage, I spent a couple of hours checking various church websites for confirmation (which I eventually found, but only in one place) and then composing a stroppy email to the Chair, who is notorious for bad communication skills, and another more gentle email to my fellow synod members from my parish to check whether they knew. One of them was one of the friends with whom I lunched yesterday, and she didn't mention it, I'm sure she didn't know either!

Fortunately, perhaps, my brain was sufficiently cool to send the second email but not the one to the Chair, or I think by now I would have been banned from the meeting - but what with all the frustration over the meeting and consequent difficulty in getting off to sleep, and Rosie then wanting to be let out into the garden at 05.30, which of course left me wide awake again, I doubt that I have had more than a couple of hours' shut-eye :(

Not the best start to the day - no happy bunnies here. Cue total rethink of my flight plan. Sewing and gardening are now definite no-no's. Other things will be done to the best of my limited brain power and time, but I shall have to include zzz somewhere, or I shall not be fit to drive to the meeting, let alone stay awake during it. I *will* go and make my feelings known!

Glad your freezer is Ok, Round.

Morning all. Hope your day improves Ionafan.

I've been up since silly o'clock as I have a full day at the paid stuff today. I have made my self look human as I will be meeting lots of new people, walked the dogs, done the dailies, got two wash loads sorted and done 15 minutes filing as instructed by Natty.

Just having a cuppa then I'll throw out that ten year old coat and then get going to work.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Won't be home until late tonight but when we finally get in I plan to:
    - load the WM ready for a delay start wash to go on tomorrow morning
    - do any washing up, and put away straight away
    - wipe down kitchen
    - wipe over bathroom

Wow, Mrs MP. You're a much kinder person than I am; I'd have wanted to deck her. (((Hugs))) Good luck with the Performance Management Review.
ASparklyBlonde: Welcome back! So glad to hear things have improved. Long may it continue. I'm glad your cleaner's working out - mine didn't really but we've parted ways on excellent terms and are still friends. I'm sort of keeping on top of it now myself, because I really do have the time, unlike you.
Frodders: Time Management is about routine, as much as anything else. If you're working as a Supply Teacher you won't be able to work that into a routine when it keeps chopping and changing. The most important thing is that you're enjoying your work - dust bunnies can wait a week or two until the holidays if necessary.
Ionafan: well done on not actually hitting Send after drafting the Chair's memo. Silly person.
Nicki, well done on the freezer defrost. Horrible job.
Jojo, I really hope he grows up soon.

Shredder emptied and shreddings squeezed into the recycling for today's collection; filing up to date, another section of the shelves cleared. I'm working on them in 20 minute burst now, tackling the hard-to-deal-with-gibble-piles, and making considerable, very surprising progress.

And I think I've worked out why Layla thinks she's being good by peeing on the carpet near the back door, even ignoring the puppy pads. The Blue Cross has an excellent page on this problem, so we're following their regime. It works! One less puddle to clear up last night, and counting.
    Better is good enough.

    Morning

I forgot to say thanks for the lists yesterday natty, so a big thank you today!
Froddington less of the 'old' faces thank you
    ionafan deep breaths x

The work-related f**kwittery has reared its ugly head for colleagues today so supporting them is top of my list today.

    Also to do:
    WM & DW
    Toilets
Portion up the humungous pasta bake I made last night
    More folding
    More lopping
    Clear the landing and hall

    Back later!

What a difference when I have a specific list and stick to it. With no interruptions.
    Bathrooms done.
2nd load of washing twirling. 1st load is outside.
DR, kitchen and hall (yay - something from today’s list!) vacuumed. Kitchen mopped.
Allotment visited and just the jobs on my list done without distraction. Plenty of new jobs added for the next list. It would have helped if I hadn’t taken an empty packet of spinach seeds with me though. :o
And to cap it off, my lovely postman safely hid a parcel for DD to save me the 20 mile round trip to the sorting office.
I’m just having a cuppa then I’m regrouping for another list bashing. Greenhouse sorting now, paperwork later.
Iona - I hope you are having zzzz now. I would be furious.
    Well done Layla :T

  • Hi ladies,

Paid stuff done, boot full of clothes taken the charity, eyebrow appointment made, spag bol in SC (although I am just scoffing a ham sarnie as am starving). Kids due home shortly, will get them showered then PJs for all.

Made my day today when one of my Year 10s told me I was 'well trendy' - high praise indeed from a 15 year old!
