  • Morning ladies,

Dancemum I hope you got some sleep xx

It's a sunny day here in GoC. I am having a cuppa in bed, will jump in the shower shortly the strip kiddies beds and get the WM going. I have a 2,000 word essay to write today so DH has been instructed to take the kids somewhere.

Will cook a chicken dinner later, also need to eBay some stuff, we have been invited on a holiday of a lifetime in 2021, somewhere amazing and would be mad to decline, just need several ££££ to pay for it so a separate pot has been set up for that!

    Have lovely days all xx

Morning all. Looks like bright, sunny day here In Valliland. Perfect for drying towels and bedding. Filled the maiden with ironing last night ( how rock and roll is my life - ironing on a Saturday night) so the ironing pile is merely a foothill and my other set of bedding is prepped for use.
I've just put another washload in and made a coffee and emptied bottom tray of DW whilst the kettle boiled.

So today it's dining room, my bedroom and the stairs. Outside jobs include rabbit hutch and another attack on the couch grass in the front border which is sprouting again - think its couch, anyway. Oh and I'll spray the weeds in the front block paving again as the lat spray doesn't seem to have done much damage.

Dancemum - hope you had a good night.

    ASB how exciting!

    Morning :hello:

I did it :D I drove to the airport in the dark :D On my own, in the dark :D On roads I don't know, in the dark :D And I didn't have a clue where I was some of the time, in the dark :D But I kept heading towards the lights shining in the dark :D And I arrived, in the dark :D Then I did it all in reverse with two passengers and a tonne of luggage - in the dark :D Did I mention it was dark? :D Not bad for someone who doesn't like driving IN THE DARK :rotfl:

I am proud of me :T:T

I've unpacked half a tonne of luggage - (DS's half - I asked permission first now that he's a grown up going on holiday with a girl, and not a bunch of mates ;)) and WM is swishing with the first load. Looks like a good drying day so I wanted to crack on with it :D

    Have a good day

    Morning

So sorry to hear your news dancemum. My thoughts are with you. Look after yourself as well. X

    Well done Round! :j

I kept myself awol yesterday so that I did not get distracted from my list. So yesterday I managed to get to Mr M super early, did the grocery shopping and picked up the plants that I was after. Whizzed back home to go to the allotment for an hour’s seriously concentrated weeding. Back home again to spend the afternoon painting the bedroom-no-longer-RoD. Dinner cooked, WULTD, aannnnddd sit down.

Today I have foregone the allotment to give some tlc to the garden this morning, then it’s in with the first coat of colour paint. Flingage and sorting will only start once the room is done, and the list is long. We will get order.
Mount ironmore has been conquered. I’m going to hang the just finished washing outside now and may get distracted in the garden until someone makes me a cuppa.
I hope the sun is shining where you are. X

You'd never believe my job before having DS involved driving all over the country, towing a trailer, picking up / delivering agricultural parts  But that was during the day... not in the dark! But then a lot of what I did in my twenties I wouldn't do now ;)

First load is pegged out - and very summery it looks too. :D Second load is swishing - I may have over-estimated how much washing line there is left :o So I've cleared the airer of yesterday's dry, aired laundry to use for any overspill.

I'm so sorry to hear your news, Dancemum. (((Hugs)))
(((Hugs))) for Mrs MP, too. Thinking of you both.

Hi, JulieJim! Lovely to have you back in the fold.

Dragged several boxes of Kelpie's bone trimmings out of the freezer and had both slow cookers going yesterday after a marathon browning session. We have sufficient fabulous beef in red wine and mushroom sauce to last us for six meals! The trimmings were 1.1kgs - this is beef that the butcher doesn't have time to trim off the ribs, and they know I was doing it because I gave them some of the results and they loved it. I felt very guilty about having free meals from them, but it genuinely was food waste so Kelpie was happy, OH and I were happy and the butcher and his wife were super-happy with the arrangement. The only reason I trimmed the bones was because the fat and beef were both too rich for Kelpie, too. Very OS MSE.

Another load of dog towels washed and out on the line because we've had another Layla accident. I've now realised that in her old life she was expected to eat and pee instantly afterwards, so the poor little soul has been trying to get out of the back door and can't. Hopefully we've had the last of the accidents because it's easy to offer her the option, now that I know. I'm pretty expert at clearing up after her now, too; takes about five minutes. I might sprinkle some bicarb down there when I'm sure it's all dry just to ensure the carpet's as sweet-smelling as it can be.

Did a lot of vacuumming and dusting this week, and it shows. We've got an American professor, his wife and graduate student coming for two and a half weeks this Tuesday and I so want them to enjoy being here. For some reason I equate the house being as clean as I can get it before they arrive as essential for that. Not sure what they says about me, given that I don't usually pull out the stops for most guests.
    Better is good enough.

I cannot be bothered with the garden today so i have done most dailies, some machine sewing, changed the bedding, second load of washing is in the machine. Made apple crisps and fruit salad. Tried to sort a frog but company not on phone today. Made up a batch of yogurt and done some knitting which is what i plan to do for most of the afternoon before the dogs come back.
