Muppet81 you are doing ok, I have a feeling that the internet issue can be easily resolved? Are you using fast user switching when you change accounts?0
-
RRE - Do you mean as in LOG OFF then "switch user" and select the other? If so, yes. Is that a problem?Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0

Yes,
this is the solution, go to this page by Kelly Theriot, and scroll down to Fast User Switching and Internet Connection, or use CTRL and F and paste in Fast User Switching
Look for the KeepRas Utility
Run it then reboot your computer
Now try logging off and onto the other account, can you now get internet access?

It worked :j
You guys on this forum are so good!
Now I have internet access for each User I see that Martin already has iTunes on his screen so I will see if I can set that up for his use and hopefully there will not be a problem with us sharing the same e-mail address.
Many, many thanks. iTunes apart, this is a big help for many other purposes.Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0 -
OK! With Red Rose Exiles help I now have Martin and myself each with our own Windows User set ups and each has an iTunes account on it.
I have set up a new e-mail address from martin but using my existing account name. I went to Outlook - Tools - Accounts - Add and put in his new address but my account name and details
Not sure if this is right???
The Oulook on his user screen does not seem to work but iTunes sent a Welcome to iTunes e-mail to his newly setup address BUT it came into my inbox.
Wish i was not so thick when it cam to computers. I feel I have acheived something today .. after 3 hours of struggling but am only half there.
If Martin wanted to have his own independant e-mail on his Windows user screen, what would we have to do?
Hope that is clearThank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0 -
Yes, you'll need to set up an outlook express user profile, as explained by this page
btw, hardly thick, this would be a steep enough learning curve for experienced user, and you have achieved a great deal0 -
Hi,
We use Outlook, not Outlook Express. Will this be the same? Looks very complicated ....Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0 -
Different type of monster, my bad for misreading
Go to Control Panel | Mail
Click on Add and type each of the user name on the pc in turn and follow the wizard to set up the email address for each profile, make sure that the prompt for the profile of the user to be used is checked..0 -
