Following getting some helpful advice on this forum, I opted for an iPod nano 8GB and love it. iTunes account set up, loaded with all my music and working well.
My partner now wants an ipod of his own to store his own music selection.
We share an e-mail address. Can we each have our own i-tunes account or will this not be possible with a shared e-mail address? I cannot see any reference to this on the i-tunes help.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I would suggest that you set up separate accounts for each other and then share the tracks, as per this page0

Hi Red Rose exile
Thaks for your response. In our case, we don't want to share our music. I'm not keen on his and visa versa. We want two accounts so we can keep everyhting seperate but as we share an e-mail address on the PC, not sure if I will be able to download another copy of i-tunes and set it up for someone elseThank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0 -
its not the email account thats important as you only need an account to buy tunes and access the itunes store,0

Do you have separate WINDOWS user accounts.
Might be the easiest way to deal with the problem, but you might want to read this page0 -
Red Rose Exile - I think we have seperate windows users accounts. When I boot up I have the choice of loading Martin's setting or mine.
Lee 634 - we would both want to be able to buy music so would I think need two accountsThank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0 -

yes but as said in the original post their music tastes are different, so yes two separate email account and itunes accounts would be required0 -

i was talking about itunes store accounts.
me & my mum also have completely different music tastes, but we still share an itunes store account over 2 different computers.0 -
You guys should really be checking out amazon.com's MP3 offerings, they're cheaper than itunes, plus you can copy them to different players once downloaded!Do You Twitter?

Help! I am getting confused now.
I don't know whether we are seperate Windows users - when I log on I can select from 2 users - Martin and myself. BUT, if I go on to Martin's I cannot get an intenet connection so cannot open i-tunes store. He tells me the connection has never worked, he always uses my settings to access the intenet, never bothers to select himself as a user. Also, when i go in as martin and try to connect to the intenet, I then lose my own connection as well and have to shut down and re-start it to get it back.
I'm terrified of doing something which I cannot rectify.
Ideally I would like to set up a completely new account for him on i-tunes as I know if we try to share one we will end up screwing each others music collection up.
I hate times like this ... I realise how little confidence I have with computers.Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0
