BW Legal - Any help very much appreciated...

If someone points you to a guide, it is probably best to assume it means "do this and in this order." Having read back through the whole thread I cannot see that you have actually received court papers from Northampton CCBC. Is that the case or not?0

No, I don't think so.didgeridoooo wrote: »3. As it turns out, it would indeed have wasted significant time...
You would've been unable to progress beyond the first page of that Dropbox file without having a Claim Form to hand.0 -
What an incredible reply, I wish I could say I wasn't expecting it, but sadly I was. (Edit: I note LeKirk deleted the post. Maybe an apology would have been more in order? Otherwise, why not leave it there and be proud of yourself.)Combatting the pandemic of BWLegal-19, one 'notice of discontinuance' at a time. :-)0

I post (in) frequently on this forum when there is something I have experience of.
I am not one of the perceived clique (at least I hope not!). I disagree with some of what goes on on here and think, at least, one regular poster is in danger of doing as much harm as good..
Having said all that there are (sadly) a very few regulars who spend a lot of their unpaid time on here giving outstanding support and advice to a myriad of people who provide little information and seem disinclined to do any research themselves. I do think the newbies thread is rather daunting but sitting down with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and "giving it a go" is the least folks can do if they want help.
I don't suggest anyone should beg and grovel but I do reckon it's reasonable to accept that there are some very generous with their time and experience folks here and if you do want help it's best not to antagonise.
I hope it works out for you.0 -
Fair enough
Sunday is wine day chez NeilCr so that may have led me to the wrong choice of a word.

But my underlying point remains (being a long term user and moderator of forums myself). Stick to what you are (t)here for and don't get caught up in the personal stuff.
Good luck!0 -
As a note of caution- while it is cathartic to have long posts explaining how someone was wrong to post what they did., it does destroy any flow of the thread as people just glaze over when they see it. Thus, important info gets lost o rpeople lose interest. Given you are (presumably) here to get help, and suggestions, thats the exact opposite of the result you want.0

Wise words from both of you thanks.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4705657/parking-letter-before-action-letter-before-county-court-claim-fight-back#1 - A superb post from Daisy here. I found it yesterday and I think I have decided to follow this through as it seems to apply nicely to my situation with BWL.Combatting the pandemic of BWLegal-19, one 'notice of discontinuance' at a time. :-)0 -
A word of warning - if you are going to follow that Daisy thread, keep in mind that it was written in 2013. A lot has changed since then.0

The Parking Prankster hasn't posted or blogged for a year as he's too busy with work at the mo, so assume that is out of date too.
Just do what the NEWBIES thread says to do at LBC stage, which is a SAR to the PPC. And an email to the solicitor (if they are using one), saying that you are having a SAR provided by their client and deny any debt, but that you are seeking debt advice which buys you 30 days extra if that helps you. It might not, you might not want to put the chance of receiving the claim off until late July if that's when you are off abroad for two weeks.
The first letter to the keeper is always the NTK and they can call it what they want. Hate to say it (sorry...genuinely, eek!) but the NEWBIES thread says that, but it is in the first post, not in the LBC/court section, it says:They sent a copy of the original PCN, and then the "first reminder". Nothing else. I see nothing entitled "Notice to Keeper".A postal PCN or NTK might be headed up 'Reminder' or 'Charge Notice' or it may even be a letter from a debt collector - it is your Notice to Keeper, in effect, if it's the first letter to arrive...
The reason the second post of the NEWBIES thread deals briefly with LBCs then goes straight into what to do once you get a court claim from a PPC, is because you WILL get a court claim soon after an LBC and there is little to do at LBC stage except get a SAR so you can see their hand ready for court defence stage.
Except with more straightforward firms like ParkingEye, there is nothing you can do to prevent a claim at LBCCC stage with most PPCs, except if there is a retailer or landowner who will cancel it at the eleventh hour, as can be done in many cases.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
