It took me all of 5 seconds to find the information on the LLoyds website which I posted earlier and to which I advised a poster to do.
It's a shame people don't look for the information themselves prior to posting something which was clearly wrong and then casting doubt to others holding this account.
A lot of unecessary debate coupled with irrelevant input from one or two could have easily been avoided.
You have a PM !! Irrelevant postings such as yours are not part of forum etiquette !0 -
It doesn't cost anything to be polite to people. Most people were not polite to Lee.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Well done everybody....probem solved.
Should we please close this thread then? (speak in a polite way!)
We are all here to solve problem not to create problem.
And it is Lee's problem, it is up to him to believe who is right and who is wrong.
If anybody has a new problem, why not please open his new thread? (speak in a polite way!)
I am so worried of being accused of being rude.0 -
Very true, but at no time was I impolite.
I merely highlighted the significant points without personal reference and suggested that a poster was misunderstanding or and had been given wrong information, and should pehaps clarify for himself/herself, but then the thread was hijacked by sloughflint who escalated the thread into utter chaos.
Maybe the mods should close the thread down now before it gets any worse. I think all the necessary questions have been answered. As far as I'm concerned thread closed.0 -
As far as I'm concerned thread closed.
You really don't get it do you,exel1966?
It's a pity you think I hijacked the thread. I find it a shame that I should feel the need to defend a third party from the likes of you or Mable.
Let me put it more plainly for you:
Your method of giving facts could be improved. Rather than bold underlines all over the place, a direct link to a website would be more beneficial. You did not make it clear.
You may not have found your posts impolite, but there are different ways of being so.
Rather than looking to blame others and spending time sending silly PMs, have a little think.
edit: I'll ask you once more. Please do not PM me again. You are letting yourself down.0 -
Dear all, wow, seems like a massive war has turned out since I last visted this thread. Anyway, what brings me here is good news. I contacted Lloyds TSB and customer services have now confirmed in writing, if you have a 2yr monthly saver it will pay 8% throughout. On the down side, customer service agents dont seem to have this information at all on the telephone.
I am sure we will now get "i told you so" but I think getting it from the horses mouth is better, remember websites can also be out of date. There is also some really decent moneysavers on here (and horrid ones too) - keep saving folks, byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0
