CCJ - ukcps

Hi all -

I received a parking fine last year through UKCPS, I parked in the same spot daily but this time my pass slipped from my window. I googled and foolishly I didn’t pay this, and I ignored, it then got to the point I got a letter from Northampton County Court. I then responded and pay in instalments. I obviously didn’t read the letter clear as I had no idea I would get a CCJ if I was paying in instalments. I had a new born baby at the time so my brain wasn’t even in this world to be honest!

Annoyingly, 2 colleagues received the same parking fine on the same day, both ignored and both seem to have got away with it now.

I struggle dealing with UKCPS, their call centre is terrible, really unhelpful.

Has anyone else received a CCJ from this company?

No, because we would have told you to defend it, and how to do that.

Do you still owe a balance you agreed to pay? How about you send UKCPS an email, asking them if they will sign an agreement to a SET ASIDE BY CONSENT and if they agree to sign that you will pay off the balance in full and settle it?

A set aside with consent will also cost you £100 court fee but there's no hearing.

I think the poster Brown Trout has a UKCPS email addy he knows...
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I’ve paid £40 so far in instalments all via phone. Apologies I am completely new to this and I’ve been fortunate enough to never have been in this position before.

Fab idea - do you know if anyone has had any success with this? I’ve found ukcps pretty hard to deal with.

We know people succeed with Parking Eye.

UKCPS are a scummy little firm though - they operate out of a caravan round the back of the Blooming Rose pub in Leeds (or they did, when they were visited by DCBL in 'The Sheriffs are Coming'' for owing money to an ex employee, IIRC).

I did not ever tell you to phone them.

Jeez, no-one phones UKCPS expecting a decent person/conversation at the other end.

Please don't reply telling me you have no email for UKCPS/they don't make one available. Read my earlier reply.

I’ve contacted brown trout for an email - previously contacted CPS via telephone and they have been shocking. I will try your suggestion once I receive an email from them.

any other advice would be appreciated. About to renew my mortgage so this really couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Why would they agree to this? Would their benefit simply be being paid earlier?

Will a set-aside remove it from my record for only a period?

Thanks! Apologies I feel like a real nag, would you simply email ukcps a standard email not going into to much detail?

I’ve read many things about set asides and statements where people are going into detail about why they may have ignored the letters?
