Problem with TV bought from Currys’….(I Know don’t shout!)…. Rights?

Ok, so we never normally buy anything from Currys. Except this time we did. We needed a new TV ASAP after the old one fell off the wall and it was cheaper there than AO or any other similar sources at the time. Just saying to justify giving business to a shop as crap as Currys.

Anyway, we were happy with it (three weeks ago) until we got the main sky box moved and started trying to have the TV in 2160 resolution. The screen blips sometimes once a day but sometimes several times a minute. It just goes blank briefly.
Googling it appears to be a known issue with some UHD TV’s and sky. Sky ask you to contact the manufacturer. I’ve downloaded the latest firmware which has not resolved the problem. I will be contacting the manufacturer however I’m not holding out much hope.
So to my mind this is a fault that is inherent in the product at the time of purchase. I am aware they have the right to refund, repair or replace.
Repair – there isn’t a repair for this issue as it stands.
Replace – if there is a problem with this TV it will be in all of them as its an LG Software issue
Refund -I’d be happy to get my money back and spend it on this one.

It does not appear to have the same dro pout issue.
So, can I insist on what I want? I know Currys can be an !!!! about customer refunds etc so want to be armed correctly if I’m going to have to be insistent.
We paid by credit card so can get them involved if it’s a problem.

Arent curry's just going to come back and say the fault lies with sky?
Currys arent selling you a TV with Sky, ill be surprised if they even mention Sky in any of the spiele. Theyve sold you a tv, that tv works for everything apart from with sky theres only one place they are sending you and thats to the company that are causing the issues youre having....
I appreciate youve got a valid complaint, not arguing that, but ill be surprised if curry's are going to be happy or particularly helpful in refunding this for you. From my perspective, id argue they dont need to so im pretty sure curry's will too.
Think this will be a long and drawn out for you, sorry.0 -

Bit of looking around suggests this is an issue with Sky Q. Theres reports of a few other manufactures having similar issues too all linked to Sky Q. Im moving from being surprised if currys refund you to being amazed if they do.0

I have also seen this issue on 2 forum sites about Sky Q and tv's. Avforums was one i was looking at a few days ago and i think it was Sky Q that was the culprit.
I suggest that you disconnect all of the Sky Q leads from the tv like HDMI and aerial and just use the rooftop aerial and just use the tv for a week to see if the issue persists and if if does then you know it's the tv at fault.
If after a week there is no tv issue then reinstall all the Sky Q leads and see if the problem comes back then it's the rented Sky Q box that is causing the problems.0 -

You may want to check your timescales in that case.
30 days, upto 6 months, after 6 months.0 -
If you disconnect sky q then it’s pointless having a 2160 tv as freebies doesn’t broadcast 4K.
And we don’t have an aerial!
Funnily enough mr woolly went into citrus today. They suggested possibly the cable but if not they would refund and replace with the Samsung for an extra 1000 -

If you do as i suggested in my post then it would rule out the tv being having a problem and as the Currys tech/sales person said to your partner it may also be a cable so doing what i mentioned would help in finding out which of the 2 devices is at fault.
Judging by your 1st post you seem to me that you just want a different tv from the one that just bought and going by the above post Currys are bending over backwards to help you out when maybe just a £1 HDMI cable would fix the issue.0
