Problem with TV bought from Currys’….(I Know don’t shout!)…. Rights?

If you do as i suggested in my post then it would rule out the tv being having a problem and as the Currys tech/sales person said to your partner it may also be a cable so doing what i mentioned would help in finding out which of the 2 devices is at fault.
Judging by your 1st post you seem to me that you just want a different tv from the one that just bought and going by the above post Currys are bending over backwards to help you out when maybe just a £1 HDMI cable would fix the issue.
It won't. It's a well known issue that is annoying as anything. If you contact LG they will send a software update. That coupled with the new Sky Q software update that's recently been rolled out improves things dramatically. Turn off HDMI control in settings too.
You may also need to reboot the box occasionally. You turn on the tv and all you get is a black screen. The tv says there is a picture but it's black. The only cure is a reboot.0 -

So the OP's tv is ok and doesn't need repairing or replacing then?
At least the OP now knows what to do to sort of fix the issue they and other LG tv users have.
Looking forward to hear from the OP whether this works or not.0 -

The software update doesn't fix it, just makes it better. I've gone from having to reboot twice a day to once a week.
The screen "blinking" sometimes doesn't happen for a fortnight then will spend an evening doing it every couple of minutes.0 -

And we don’t have an aerial!
Funnily enough mr woolly went into citrus today. They suggested possibly the cable but if not they would refund and replace with the Samsung for an extra 100
Sky Q isn't the only 4K source available. Netflix, Amazon Video and YouTube all stream in 4K and the TV will have these apps available on it.
4K blu-ray with a decent Blu-Ray player will also offer a far superior picture to any other source.0
