Noddle clear score or mse credit file are good ones as well. You need to look at the accounts that you have opened and closed and your payment histories as opposed to the score. That shows defaults details of payments etc. Not sure on experian but clearscore has tabs across the top were you can go in and look at accounts that are open and closed. The score is just a number they reckon but your credit file must be looking okay if youve got furniture on finance.

After a LOT of internal debate I have also decided to cancel my monthly £5 donation towards a charity raffle. It's a charity which is very close to my heart but I promise promise promise that it will be the first thing I reinstate after I'm dmp free.

Right - after a very hectic weekend I'm back!

I've been through all my direct debits and standing orders to see if there were any savings to be made there. I'd forgotten I've been overpaying the mortgage by £20.29 (to make it a round figure) so that's been cancelled. I know it seems silly as I'm paying interest on the mortgage and not on the DMP but now there is an end in sight I just wanna chuck everything at it. This will be reinstated as soon as the DMP is gone.

So now just an extra £7.76 a month to find - and also continue making other payments.

Also need to remember to set aside the £80 a month and not just fritter this "extra cash".

And I'm on the countdown to payday now. £130 to last me 13 days - £10 a day challenge it is then!

Out of that I need to get a birthday card and pay £10 to participate in a charity event.

Will also need a few fresh food bits and probably £10 petrol.

Dinner will be from the freezer tonight - fish in sauce & frozen veg, with tinned new potatoes. Not very exiting but no need to buy anything today!

Have a look and see if your bank lets you open another account to save the money into. Ive got six i think with halifax now. All low funds mind but each meant for a purpose. If you tilly tally and save your change you can definately do it. 60 p a day is the all you need to find now
Also i know you work better in cash but do you get cashback from your bank for any shops. I tend not to use it but some people seem to make a fair bit. Is your dmp a free one ie stepchange or similar or do you pay a fee? Stopping any fees would save you the last bit.
I totally understand why you have stopped the mortgage overpayment by the way. 18 months to be debt free. Wahoo.
And good luck on your 10 pounds a day challenge.

Thanks Neverending - I think I do have a dormant account I can swoop my £80 a month over into, thanks for the reminder.

Cashback - I'm not too familiar with but this but it's another thing to look into.

I do pay a small fee for my dmp but that is an insurance that will pay it for a year if I am forced redundant - the chance of which is quite high in my industry at the moment, so I'd rather pay it and have peace of mind that I'm covered.

    I WILL get there!

Breakfast today is scrambled egg on toast. I made up a batch of pasta salad last night which will do lunch today, tomorrow and Friday. Dinner will be yellow sticker sausages from the freezer with mash and baked beans - not the healthiest but no need to buy any food!

I need a few essentials - toilet paper (very essential!), bleach and some cat biscuits.

We will go to the pub at lunchtime today (only day we can all get out) so will be a £2.20 spend on half a shandy. NOT essential but I will view this as my treat for this week!
