Hello,
I have also been miss sold a static caravan.
I was told and my contract states the caravan was manufactured in 2009. I purchased in April 2016. I decided to sell, due to job changing and unable to use it as much. It has now been found out the manufacturing year was 2003. I am devastated as it means I have lost a lot of money and not sure what to do next.
It was a private seller, but the sale had to go through the site manager that it is sited on. The contract is with the site0 -

Hello i bought a static caravan in 2017 for £45000 my income was less then £25000 ! since then i have sold my house because the payments got too much and we moved into the caravan and also since then i got diagnosed with cancer and myself and my wife have split up in 2020 ! this made me look through the finance paperwork and on this the salesman has put my income down as £75000 ! this information was not on any paperwork i signed ! and also since then in 2019 the salesman handed himself into the police for fraud that hes committed on the site and this is an ongoing case. would i have an argument for miss selling with Barclays. Thank YouIt costs nothing to make a complaint. The complaint would be that the salesman falsified the data used to determine the affordability of the loan, and banks are required to check the affordability of the loan as part of their process. But what would the outcome be? Do you want them to cancel the finance and take back the caravan, potentially leaving you homeless?
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
I have the Barclays documentation and it says signed on behalf of Barclays ( which is signed ) and customer signature and date
( which is not signed or dated ) i didn't see it and theirs an extra £6K added to the total !0 -
As Ectophile asked a few days ago, what outcome do you want from this, because it may determine what advice you get.0

£75K could be the bottom part of the 2 missing.
Extra £6K. Could be the interest. Or why the salesman is up on fraud charges.
Why sell house? Caravan would have been a better option.
As others have asked. Just what do you want out of this? As there is a risk of losing everything.Life in the slow lane0 -
HIya i had to put down a deposit when i bought the static and when i sold my house and moved in the static we bought decking to go around to give us more space ! i would like them to take the static of me and cancel the agreement and also compensate me for the deposit and decking if that was possible.
Thank You0 -
£75k is what the salesman put as my earnings the interest is stated at £15k on all paperwork except one that shows the finance and the interest and then this £6k that i don't know anything about.0
