..but these are all version 8.1.0, rater than 9.0, which presumably won't give me anything more tan I have. Only version 9.0 is Vodafone (uk). I would gues trying this might risk bricking my phone?0

It shouldn’t brick the phone but is unlikely to give you WifiCalling (and will have some Vodafone bloat).====0 -

Just in case it's of any use to anyone I can tell you that I have a 3 contract SIM and an Honor Play phone. I've not used the 3 In Touch app but out of interest I turned on wi-fi calling in the menus on my phone, then turned on airplane mode, then turned on wi-fi and managed to make a call, so presumably wi-fi calling is working for me.0

WifiCalling (and VoLTE aka 4G Calling and Supervoice) will work on almost all reasonably recent Honor and Huawei handsets (models going back at least 2 or 3 years iirc) irrespective of network supplier or sim free.====0
