Used car warrant - warranty direct?

Their get out clause is thisAlong with any elements you may have chosen not to insure, a few other things are not covered such as:
belts, hoses, pipes, bulbs, wiper blades and
other consumable items, which means items which are generally expected to wear out or be replaced
There is a capped labour rate
The policy will therefore not likely cover wear and tear - check the policy document carefully. Also, one of the condition of the warranty is to service according to manufacturer specification, so they may try to deny your claim if you don't do all service at the main dealers.
I will put the £1300 (£500+£800) in a savings account and then do any repair from that. You are not likely to spend more than that on repairs in two year especially if you don't do any repairs at BMW main dealers.0 -

Purchased a RAC warranty for £1,500 and was told by the dealer that I would have nothing to worry about if anything went wrong within the 2 year period of the warranty.
Car went to a main dealer for a service and was told that the rear shocks were leaking oil.
apparently not covered after the warranty administrators were contacted as they said they were affected by wear and tear and the policy only covers mechanical failure.
How would they know it is wear and tear without stripping the shock down?????0 -

If only you had researched before Purchasing, but thanks for warning others that mostly these warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on.
I would have thought that a shock absorber would always be a wear and tear item unless it failed within a few months of purchase. You have failed to say how old the car was that you purchased second hand?0
