You're doing really well! It's a big shift in mindset to start saving for things - I'm still working on that too. Sounds like you've really got the right attitude though!0

Thanks Moguline - I know exactly what I should and shouldn’t be doing, BUT I do find it hard to stick to it.
Nice productive day today. OH took DS food shopping whilst I blitzed the house - do love a tidy house to start the week. Food shopping came in at £66 so nearly £20 less than our recent average, so I’m happy with that.
I’ve made the decision to go back to slimming world. I’ve not been for several months and again, although I know what I should be doing for some reason I can’t bring myself to stick with it without being held accountable by standing on the scales each week. I’ve had a clear out of running clothing and listed it on fb. As a result I now have £67 sat in my Paypal account. This will cover a 12 week block of SW sessions and hopefully give me the boost I need to get back on it. I’ve got approx 3.5 stone to lose so definitely need to do something about it sooner rather than later.
Lunches are prepped for work for the next couple of days and clothes are laid out ready. I’m trying desperately to get more organised in our morning routines as at the moment it is chaos!!! Definitely need to nail it before DS starts preschool in September!
Right I’m in need of my beauty sleep, so goodnight MSEers x x x0 -
I wouldn't worry about the morning routine - you'll be forced to be more organised when you're bound by pre-school/school start times and you'll magically get more efficient. I have no idea how I've done it, but managed to get DS into school on time every single day this last school year - no specific routine involved, just needs must.0

Good luck with SW. I didn't plan on staying once I joined, but I find going to group really helps me with my motivation. It's expensive but worth it for the health benefits for me."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

Thanks for all your lovely and supportive comments - moguline I hope you’re right re. Preschool mornings :rotfl:
Payday yesterday. Moneys been moved and paid off where it needs to be. £100 payment to Very has cleared a chunk so on course to pay off ahead off the 0% period finishing.
Had a small eBay sale yesterday (£6) just waiting on payment for that and the refund for the gas bill has cleared so will confirm and pay for DS party at the weekend. Still waiting for electricity account to be finalised - fingers crossed for a small refund there.
Back at SW last night, jumping on the scales wasn’t a nice experience but time to do something about it! Will do a quick Aldi dash later to pick up some SW friendly bits.
Recieved a love to shop gift card from TCB, plan is to keep topping this up to use to pay for some Christmas pressies. I’m also due some vouchers from work, so dependant on how much I may put these into the Christmas fund too.
Jobs for today......
1. Post fb / ebay sales
2. Aldi
3. Meal plan SW style
4. Check Onepoll (aiming to reach payout by Xmas)
5. Clear out purse to receipt hog
6. List eBay (at least 5 items)
7. Pay vets bill for pony meds0 -
Good afternoon- I’m back for a quick check!
To do list completed except from 6 and 7. Will list eBay once DS is in bed and the vets will have to wai5 for tomorrow now.
Counted up my loose change piggy bank that I’d been chucking all my coppers, 5ps and £2 coins in. Gobsmacked to find nearly £60 in there! Going to carry on adding to it in the hope it’ll pay for a couple of family Christmas days out.
Took DS swimming this afternoon as weather hasn’t been great here again. The leisure centre had a half price offer on the monthly pass - £20. Given that swimming is £5 and gym is £7 a time it’ll pay for itself in 3 more visits. Will definitely get use out of it to take DS swimming and I’ve been desperate to get back in the gym. I will get fit!!!!0 -
You're making great progress with the EF and getting your debts down. Congrats on OH's new job.
On the tidy house front - I have a plaque in my kitchen that says "Cleaning house while kids are growing is like shovelling snow while its still snowing" - otherwise known as you sound normal to me LOLAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi savingholmes - I love the sound of that plaque!!!! It rings very true....
Didn’t have a great nights sleep last night, woke at 3am suffering with hay fever , luckily the antihistamine kicked in and managed to get a couple of extra hours. Then I had literally just sat down with my cuppa and DS wakes up!
Had the final electricity bill through and we’re owed £40. I suspected it’d be around £20 so pretty pleased with that.
Batch cooked a big pot of SW friendly chilli yesterday. Had some for tea last night and have frozen the rest. It’s a habit I need to get back into, I used to always have a big stash of batch cooked meals for myself. I don’t think me and OH have ever eaten the same meal. I’m veggie and he’s fussy - goes along way to explain the food bill. Unfortunately DS is showing signs of following in Daddy’s footsteps re. eating habits
Have a great day all x0 -
Good news on the refund. Batch cooking can save loads. I just need to get in the habit of freezing what I don't fancy eating. I have a fussy eater (DD) in the family too - I of course am completely innocent...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
