i use aldi's own brand powder 2 in 1 - its a lot cheaper and does a good job. I did try tesco value bio and found that also cleaned all bar tough stains but as i dont go to tesco that much i dont tend to buy it.0

I use Tesco Value laundry liquid and tesco pure fabric softener. If the kids stuff is really dirty, I put a scoop of vanish in. We have hard water here and it still manages to get things clean.Just when I'm about to make ends meet, somebody moves the ends0

Blimey, when I think my old mum used grated green " kitchen " soap when I was a child. All hand washed as well. Now look at the choice it is staggering.
Personally I use the biggest box of what ever is on offer at the, time mix it with soda crystals, lasts for ages, clothes look and smell clean. Oh, and I also use which ever fabric conditioner is on offer as well and I usually water that down as well.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0 -
With regards to my previous post on this thread, today I had an offer I can't refuse :j
When I got to my parents house for my visit my mum announced that if I had an empty softener bottle I could refill from her 5 litre, plus she had saved one for me.
How great is that, it won't save massive amounts but a little saved goes a long way. :beer:Aiming to be Debt free by October 20130 -
There was an old thread on here about mixing detergents to 'stretch' the most expensive nice smelling one. I've just tried it and all is going well. Here is my recap of the advice:
Mix 1/3 expensive detergent (I had bold 2 in 1)
to 1/3 value brand detergent
to 1/3 soda crystals
I mixed them in a big bucket and then transferred them to a large storage container. Made tons! But I know I've saved an absolute fortune and it all still smells like bold 2 in 1 (that purple jasmine one!) (delish!)

Been using a box of boxes of Bold I got last September cheap for over a year now, will probably buy it again once we run out. I use a spoon of that and same of soda crystals. One day I might be more organised...........

Lidl Non-Bio powder. I have to be careful as so many products bring us out in a rash, but this is fine - does the job without decorating us!0

I use liquid persil and tescos lime scale preventer tablets (much cheaper than calgon). You can reduce the amount of liquid and it saves your washer from getting bunged up!0

I buy Airel liquid 10l from costcos for about 11.00 lasts for ages I put some soda crystals in for the whites. Works well without fabric condioner. I use a little lenor in my wash as I don"t iron and I find the clothes are less creased whien I use it. I can't use airel powder as it makes me itch. I use bold 2-1 lavender for the bedding but trying to wean myself of that.0
