Caught between a rock and a hard place. Need advice

Options
Hi all. I'm new here so if my post is in the wrong section I apologize.

I'm in such a mess and don't know where to turn or what to do and it's stressing me out to breaking point. My problem is my ex of seven years, the mother of my children and admittedly a clever devious woman who knows all my details and who has the same name as me. M J Kenyon is applying for loans. credit. phones etc in my name and leaving me with considerable debt.

Obviously, I'm aware this is a fraud and what I should do is go to the police but my relationship with my children is so strained already due to the way she is I'm reluctant to getting her in trouble as this would end up being my fault in the kids eyes

What I'm asking is if anyone knows or can advise me on any steps I can take to stop her getting me in more debt? Im even considering changing my name by deed poll. Would changing bank help?

No need to change your name.

Just put a protective marker via CIFAS. Lenders will then need to run extra checks.

Credit applications can not me made using just initials so the fact that her initials may be the same as yours is not relevant in any way. Her date of birth is presumably different and her given names which will have to be stated in such applications are obviously not the same as yours.

    Go and !!!! !!!! up!
  • Do you share the same first and middle names?
If not then she is applying for them in your FULL name - nothing will get approved with initials or only.

This is fraud and should be reported appropriately

Follow the advice from zx81 in post #2.

As a side note you may want to consider removing your personal details from the post and replacing it with 'X Y Zedname'.
