Well done on your shopping bargains Kaz.

Inside: Level 1 done. So many cobwebs - yikes!
Outside: Small tree and large bush hacked at, weeds sworn at and pulled up. Comment from little boy walking past with his mother: "What is she doing?" He may well ask... :rotfl:*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Thinking of you, Jojo.
Ooooh Kazwookie, bargainacious!
Superking titivated and passageway and stairs vacuumed thoroughly. I'm working my way up from the bottom of the house. It's so lovely to have the doors and windows open to get a breath of fresh air into the place.
Gave Layla some valerian to calm her down earlier because there's a threat of thunder here, and she's taken to growling nastily at the cats. Devil Cat used to get really, really viscious when given it, so that could be the problem, or alternatively she could have had too much to do today and be so tired she just couldn't cope with them. *sigh* Every day we get a new slightly problematic behaviour and then the next day it's fine and she moves on to something else. I'm hoping this is another of those 24 hour things. Such a shame, she had a really lovely time playing with a feather duvet this morning.Better is good enough.0 -
All levels done helped by the odd jobs I did yesterday, with the vacuuming and de-cluttering. I only really had to do the dusting and de-cluttering of my handbag. I keep telling myself I should get one with a few more sections/pockets as everything just gathers in the bottom!0

Bedroom given its first diluted coat of paint. I ran out of mixed up paint solution as I got to the alcove (which I might grandly be calling a walk in wardrobe at some point. Be warned :rotfl:) so I stopped for the day.
MAD HH in the garden, then in to make an underwhelming low cal curry. I think the fresh chillis just didn’t have the oomph but at least everyone ate it. Slinky is eluding me - 3lb gain this week - and definitely eluding DH. So we are on a regime. Let’s see how long this can last.
WULTD and kitchen restored to normality. I have a cuppa and that will be me done for the evening.0 -
The Universe has a strange way of providing when you need it.
You remember the way I have mentioned that I give the WM a baleful stare from time to time?
Well, Himself has just been washing his clothes for another interview tomorrow morning and asked if I thought the water coming out from underneath could be from the filter.
After rummaging around underneath the unit in the cobwebs to find the socket, the outlet and the supply pipe, we managed to move it just enough to be able to tilt it backwards, as the filter was refusing to budge and, as the water seemed to be coming from the wrong side, I wondered whether the hose had split.
With a HUGE leap of faith, I got Himself to keep the barstewarding thing tilted as I stuck my head underneath and brandished a torch about. With the current situation for ridiculous and bizarrely fatal accidents and illnesses in the genetic line, I really didn't fancy becoming the next one on the list.
Anyhow, after checking five times that I wasn't about to get splatted, I ducked under there. The pipes are fine. But there was water all over the drum casing just where one of the switching circuits terminated in some rather unprotected electrickery.
From my memories of high school Physics, I seem to remember that water and electrickery don't go together in a way beneficial to prolonged human existence. Himself must have had that same lesson, which isn't bad, considering his average level of mechanical [strike]in[/strike]competence.
We need to find the money for a new WM, disposal of the old and trips to the launderette in the intervening period.
That's giving me a bloody distraction. [breathes into paper bag]I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I'm going to jump on board next week if that's ok. i do better with a bit of accountability!A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks0
