Dogs walked, bedding changed, downstairs floors swept, dailies done, pots watered and I've been into town for new sandals and dog treats.

Ironing next. Third load about to go in washer.

Dining room vacuumed and returned to normal.
    Ironing done.
Kitchen MUCH better now the last of the pots washed/in dishwasher and the glasses have been washed and pit away. We had prosecco, so the lead crystal flutes were used - my niece questioned this but I said we could either use them and enjoy them or look at them. her mum added that 'life's too short' so they were used. They've all survived, anyway. And I don't expect the Vallikids to keep them unless they actually want to.
Worryingly when mum arrived she wished me Happy New Year ...

  • Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter/Bank Hols.

Had work until 3pm but as OH and his kids aren't due here until at least 6:30 - I washed and hoovered my car which has been long overdue. I am going to make the most of the undisturbed time and:

    S & S Kitchen and bathroom
Do tiny amount of washing up and leave to dry
    Hoover kids' bedroom
Spray some fabric freshener on the sofas and bedlinen
    Empty all bins/recycling

Then, most importantly, I am going to put my feet up with a coffee and enjoy the quiet before the chaos commences :rotfl: :rotfl:

I finished the ironing then dusted the HSL, then went out to meet up with friends. Back now to watch football.

Flying will recommence tomorrow once I've sorted trying to get Littleydog another vet appointment.

Just waiting for the final box to be ticked, then theatre time/transplant teams to assemble and potential recipient families to get here. Going to be here all through So I'm back on the night watch.

In just a few hours, people will be getting a phone call to come in. There's going to be up to five families per organ/group of organs, all prepped and pre-opped and sitting on beds waiting to find out if this is really their chance.

Some will get here and find out after waiting that it's not this time and have to get dressed and go back home to wait for another call in the dead of night. Some could be 5th on the list and know, if it's really happening this time, that 4 other families are there and have been given bad news before them. They'll then have to wait to see if the initial surgery is successful. And then the recovery period. And then afterwards. So much waiting.

But maybe, for that moment, in amongst all the waiting and insecurity and fear, they'll feel just a tiny spark of hope. And my big brother, smaller than me, nervous, obsessive about music and film and comic books (in the process probably teaching me my entire moral code - with great power comes great responsibility), irresistible to small children and smaller animals, who made me feel 'normal' for loving the same things, who never got angry with me, never said a cross or unkind word to me, chose to give other people that tiny glimmer of hope.

We have superheroes amongst us. And I'm so proud that he is one of them when he goes on his last trip.

But I am going to miss him so very much.

Normal service of complaining about Himself, work and the Idiot Cat will resume in a while. But not today.

That's the second time you've made me cry in as many days, Jojo. Your brother will be remembered.
Valli, it is possible it was just a slip of the tongue? Other than 'HNY' was your mother okay?

Secondary glazing now in the attic, 1 tog duvet found and now on the bed because I've been unable to sleep I've been so hot, airlock between the two front doors given a thorough clean which it's needed for months, backdoor washed inside and out, a bit of corridor vacuumed and the paintwork dusted and washed. I think that's spring cleaning started.

The cats have a 6' scratching/climbing post, and I even remembered how to whip rope which I was shown 40 years ago and haven't used since.
    Better is good enough.

Jojo...thinking of you. And your brother's legacy...

Honey Bear ...we get questions re-asked. But AFAIK she was otherwise ok.

What a way with words you have.
I am so sorry for all you are going through and for the loss you are/will experience.
You are a superhero, and so is he.
