I like the HPC debates - until they get nasty and personal, at which point I stop reading. I don't understand the point of banning a point of discussion on what I thought was supposed to be a discussion forum. Obviously no one has the crystal ball, but what is the harm in debating, discussing, pontificating and whatnot (as long as it remains civil)? :)
• Hi Nolag,

Why do you say no to any posts on house prices when you seem to contribute to so many (albeit moaning and complaining about what others find as valuable and important points)?

I have looked at some of your previous threads and there appears to be a lot of criticism to other MSE's. If you are not happy with some threads just ignore them like the rest of us do.

Some people will have similar opinions to you others will not.

You need to chill.......... lifes too short, there are more important things to get upset about:rolleyes:

I agree Lavendyr:T
• The forum is called 'House Buying, Renting, Selling & Prices'.

With BUYING, price movements up, down, sideways or CRASHing matter.

With RENTING, price movements up, down, sideways or CRASHing matter.

With SELLING, price movements up, down, sideways or CRASHing matter.

With PRICES, price movements up, down, sideways or CRASHing matter.

So, what's it to be? A whole forum dedicated to one thread?

:)

People have been on about a house price crash for years and it hasn't happened.
Nobody took any notice and said "it's not going to happen, house prices only ever go up" etc.........................
and even ridiculed any such suggestion.

I personally have been on about it for months and on this forum people said the same.

Then, about a few weeks ago "they" started saying "there won't be a crash only a cooling of HPI.

Then, they starting saying "There won't be a cooling of HPI but a stagnation"

Then when reality finally hits home "they" start imitating children by putting their fingers in their ears and saying "la la la la la I'm not listening"

I think it's called a change of sentiment

Either way, the crash is coming

The first rule of MSE is:
"You don't talk about the imprending House Price Crash"

The second rule of MSE is:
"YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT THE IMPENDING HOUSE PRICE CRASH"

If you talk about it people might actually start asking why they have to put themselves in crushing debt for their entire lives in the firstplace.

Can I suggest we confine all the "Can we please stop the House Price crash threads?" threads to one sticky thread.

That was worthy of a thank you but I am reluctant to thank a squatter.

I'm so tempted to start another "Can we please stop the "Can we please stop the House Price crash threads?" threads", but I'm scared we'll get "Can we please stop the "Can we please stop the "Can we please stop the House Price crash threads?" threads" threads".

Then we'll get stuck in a loop and we'll all die. Well, OK we'll all WANT to die.

It looks like stagnation at the moment. No job losses as yet so no forced sellers and no reason to drop prices. Plus the BofE are threatening a cut in IR's.

OMFG I just realised this thread could turn into the very thing the OP detests so much. THE IRONY!!!!
