Exactly the same has happened to me,I phoned them yesterday and they said they would send a "duplicate"when I asked what happened to the original
    deathly silence.
Anyway that`s made my mind up,I`m sticking with ING,it`s not the first time Cahoot has made a mess of things with me.
Hopefully ING will increase tomorrow to 5%,but I doubt very much that Cahoot will bother againuntil the BOE raises to about 6%.
As with ALL providers they rely on customer inertia once they`ve got your dough.

alared and susan, that makes 3.

Applied online 26th June, recieved confirmation e-mail next day.

Rung 7th July asking about forms, said will re-send and should receive by 12th July. After reading this thread, I have my doubts.

You have all just helped me make up my milnd.  I was just considering opening a cahooot account but after reading all the previous threadsI have decided not to go ahead. It seems as if it would be a repeat of my [glow=red,2,300]previous frustrating experience [/glow]when I opened a toisa with [glow=red,2,300]IF[/glow].  I am not going to bother. My money is with ING at the moment and it would stay there until the forseeable future.

[move]I rest my case why bother :o:o:o[/move]

I have just opened this account and I think it was definitely worth the effort for 0.8%.

Does anyone know if the interest is paid gross (like ING)
or do you have to send them an R85 form? I have searched through the Cahoot website but there doesn't seem to be any mention of this.

The default will be to get taxed at basic rate 20%.
If you are not a tax payer then you need to fill out R85.
This was asked during the application and then sent with your pack.

If for some reason you missed this, then ring them up and ask them to send you the form.

ING has just had a miserable non-competitive increase of 0.15%. I may have to swallow some of my words. :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

I have had no problem at all in opening my account (and neither did parents).
We got the email within a few days and also the paperwork.
I sent the correct paperwork back (and it looks like some people on this board have NOT done that).
The account was open within a few days and a few days after that I got the documents back.

The only thing I would critise is the cheap tiny envelope they sent to put the documents in.
I had to fold things into 4 to get them in and then sellotape it down cos it wouldn't stick

Same here! I got so annoyed I've included a complaint note with the application form!

Anyone had problems with setting up a variable direct debit with Cahoot ?

After hearing about ING's measley 0.15% rise I was all set to transfer my savings to my newly opened Cahoot account.

However the Cahoot site tells me I haven't set up a variable direct debit even though I provided all the account details stating the sort code and number of my current account. They obviously have not set it up for me then !

I have emailed them to send me the direct debit forms again perhaps they might get it right this time ?! I'm already missing out on lost interest !!! Any idea how long this will take ?
