Glad you’ve got a good work set up now. I’m grateful to be able to work from home and haven’t suffered financially at all. I work for a very large government department that will never close down so have a safe job until I retire 👍

Camping table looks good - better than mine which has a plastic top!
Same here finance wise - all ok as job is steady, which like others I'm extremely grateful for.  I've stopped putting monthly sums into some of my YNAB pots such as eating out, etc, as these aren't being used at the moment. So I have been putting extra into my workplace pension each month which will stand me in good stead for retirement next year.   😀

  • I thought I would share what lockdown has done for me MSE wise ,
I have paid of my CC debt 12 months early.
Bought an iPhone , an older model cash.
Paid for a holiday next year
Bought a desk of sorts .
Got £200 extra in premium bonds
This month I am going to investigate making overpayment to my loan.
I would dearly love to be debt free early next year, rather than summer .

Wow that's amazing, well done :). The table and chair look nice too.

  • DH and I have saved some money by not going out for coffees/cakes etc. I lost my overtime at work but DH got a self-employed grant which helped to make up for that. We won't be going away this summer to visit relatives, which will save hundreds of pounds in plane fares, coach fares, spending money, etc, so we've decided we can afford to put fences around two thirds of our garden. We did have some of the money put aside for this already, but have the confidence to spend it now. Especially as I've got most of my overtime back now.

    Good morning ,

I am settling into my workspace ,it is much quieter in the bedroom , I can see trees and it feels pleasant .

Last weekend was filled with the usual shopping and cleaning humdrum things . I did an extra long walk on Sunday , I walked off a pavement awkwardly and have pulled a muscle in my lower back. it isn't stopping me doing anything just a little uncomfortable if I sit for too long.

I have signed up with the open university to do the MSE money Academy , it is 12 hours long and six sessions so 2 hours each . I am looking forward to the last session which is about retirement.

Moneywise there is going to be a surplus at the end of the month , I am saving this to do an overpayment on my loan .

    Have a good day everyone.

Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.

Glad you're settling in to your new work space.  It makes such a difference to have somewhere proper to work. Ouch to the pulled muscle, I banged my right hand accidentally about 4 weeks ago now and my thumb is still quite sore which makes it difficult to write.

You'll have to let us know how you get on with the OU MSE course and if you think it's worthwhile.  Sounds good to have surplus money at the end of the month rather than surplus month at the end of the money 😁

I don't comment on your diary much Sunshine but just wanted to congratulate you on getting rid of the credit card and doing so well with budgeting etc that you have surplus money.  The office set up looks good too.  Commiserations on your MIL and friend too.  I won't comment on the altercation on HHODs diary as I missed that too except to say it is such a shame you no longer feel you can comment on others diaries.  The OU Money academy course sounds interesting so I have subscribed for feedback when you get a chance.
