Tax rebate 2019

Hi guys I filed my first self assessment tax return on december 21st and it's been saying bank repayment pending since the 23rd , I gave them a call yesterday and was told my payment has been issued and should be in my account by friday coming however on my hmrc account it's still showing as bank repayment pending ? Can anybody help me out

Personally I would wait until Monday next week once the Christmas/New Year period is out of the way but there is more information here.

It may be HMRC want to check something before letting you have a refund?

I'm not sure pal as this is my first return , I was told it had been processed on the 24th of december , I recieved a tax calculation letter agreeing my return figures are correct , does receiving this letter mean anything any difference to repayment pending ?

Advice. I’ve got a pending repayment that’s been pending since November 15th, is this normal? On the web chat they say it should be processed by 24th Jan.

Not unusual going off the posts on this thread.

Have you checked your return to make sure you haven't made, with hindsight, any obvious mistakes?

A couple of years ago there were a few people posting who had claimed they were exempt from paying Class 4 National Insurance despite running a profitable business

No obvious mistakes such as that! Hopefully be issued soon, just never had to wait aslong as this . Thanks for the advice

I'm in the same boat pal been waiting since 23rd of december not sure what's going on my rebate is slightly higher than some I've seen its 7k so in not sure if the amount will trigger security checks or something maybe that's where your payment is

I wouldn’t sweat too much on yours mate, not been many working days since the 23rd December! Hoping we both get it soon. Mine is for a similar amount as yours, £6500. When I rang up they said they were checking that the CIS Was all ok on it.

Fingers crossed mate they say 10 working days normally but I cant see that being the case

Rang up before and was told nothing is on my account to stop payment being made however they're still within the 10 day period (8th day today) so its just a waiting game I suppose
