UKPC Parking Charge - April 2019

Hi all, the driver of my car has just received a £100 UKPC parking charge.
All the threads seem to be old, and mention to ignore these parking fines. Does this still apply please? Reason why I'm asking is because they now state on the back of the notice that the charge has been issued "in accordance with the Administration of Justice Act 1970" and that they may request the registered keepers details from the DVLA too....
So.…..should the driver just ignore the ticket please? Thank you all :)

No they aren't and no, they don't. And NO, you don't ignore it.

its not a "fine" , its an INVOICE

UKPC cannot "fine" anyone, nor will it say that word on their signs or their paperwork, you made that up

they sent a £100 invoice (pcn) for alleged rule breaking on private land , not for anything "illegal"

"illegal" implies that a law was broken, no laws were broken, but it may be that a driver failed to follow on site rules listed on the signage and UKPC have issued an invoice for payment as a result

breaking a made up rule on private land is not "illegal", nor can it result in a "fine" either

just follow that NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread, it is up to date , despite its apparent age from when it was first posted

UKPC are fraudsters, pure and simple

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11858473/Parking-firm-UKPC-admits-faking-tickets-to-fine-drivers.html

Follow the advice in the stickies/FAQs and complain to your MP.

On 18th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these private parking companies. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.

Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

    http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2019/8/contents/enacted

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Yep, but if it's a windscreen PCN you won't be doing that this week.

    As per the NEWBIES thread...

Well no, not yet. You have weeks before you should do this, if you want to win.

    And not disputing as driver.

I worry about you not yet following what the NEWBIES thread tells you, especially has you haven't mentioned a landowner complaint either, (as the NEWBIES thread tells everyone to do first in EVERY case).

Thanks, Coupon-mad. I have 4 weeks before paying / disputing. I've tried to look into the Newbies thread, but there are so many different situations. Sorry

you need to edit your posts and learn to speak in language of a third party

the DRIVER drove on the day

the KEEPER receives any postal paperwork like an NTK

the following words have no place in this topic

    "MY , ME , MYSELF & I"
and should be avoided at all costs , parking par@sites READ these forums and can and do take screenshots where people have outed the driver or the circumstances

a lawyer would advise you to a NO COMMENT scenario , or a statement that does not implicate you

of course there are many situations, thats why its a complicated topic with a very busy forum
  • Ahhhh….now I see (I think). I simply tell them that I wasn't the driver....I'm useless at this sort of stuff. Really sorry if you all feel like you're going over old ground :(
