PS I would tell you guys if I got a BC (or any cancer) diagnosis. I'd need your help and support to get me on the alcohol straight and narrow....What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0

Couldn’t read and run arkers . It's hard to know what to say but hoping as it's developed so quickly then it can be dealt with swiftly too. Sending you the biggest of hugs, all positive vibes and very best wishes.:A As Shaggy said, do use us to rant. It can be easier than offloading on those around you in RL.0

(((Hugs))) Arkers. How frightening for you. It's something we all dread, so although I can't know how or what you're feeling, I'm grateful you trusted us enough to tell us. Please do keep posting and let us know how you're doing; this is a very safe place and it's anonymous so you can say whatever you like and if you decide you shouldn't have said it, or want to unsay it, you can delete any post later. I'm pretty sure I can speak for more than just myself when I say we're all rooting for you.
Manpants, I'm guessing from the time of your post and the fact that you said you haven't had any AF days that your last post was made when you weren't entirely sober. (((Hugs)) because it sounded like a horrible evening and that comes after a horrible couple of weeks at least, and the sadness is very wearing on the soul. The idea of Goa sounds glibly tempting, but I think you've got more oomph than that in the daytime. Besides which, as you've said, what would you do after that? WE need you here, contributing, and functioning as one of us. More (((hugs))) because you're clearly feeling very wounded at the moment.
Have a fab holiday, Maman.
You'll soon be back on track, Shaggy. 11/30 for me please.Better is good enough.0 -
Hello everyone,
Not sure if I was going to post this or not but I "know" most of you by now and sometimes just writing things down helps in a weird sort of way. Life threw me a curve ball yesterday with an unexpected diagnoses of breast cancer. I say unexpected as I only went for a scan at the end of Jan and all was well. However due to family history I go once a year for a scan at another hospital. I was called back and after further investigation "bam," you have Cancer. How could that be based on a clear scan in the routine screening 4 months ago? You may well ask, and I have and hopefully I will get an explanation.
I'm 49, with husband, two kids and a three legged dog. Life until yesterday was pretty much perfect. Today my thought processes have changed.

Dear Arkers,
What dreadful news.
It sounds like your breast cancer may well be in its early stages judging by the clear scan in January and this is a real positive. Treatments these days are not as cyto - toxic as they once were and i know a great many women who have sailed through treatment as upsetting and daunting as it is. When i was a nurse, i worked in oncology and the greatest gift is the positive mind and outlook. You are going to smash this!!!
You have indeed been sent a massive curve ball but it is nothing that you can't get through with your husband by your side and your children and 3 legged dog waiting for you at home.
Sending you massive hugs and prayers.

Evening all!
Arkers ,,, bless you , my heart goes out to you, but as others have said this must be a very early stage , keep us informed and I feel honered that yo7 shared your very personal and sad news with a close bunch of friends you’ve never met before xx
Man pants , sorry to read your situation, a few on here are divorced, and I’m sure I speak for most when I say that feeling of loneliness, no future , no home , no family , no hope ,,,,,does really go eventually, take one step a day or even minute at a time , you will get there , keep posting here with this lovely group of people and hold your head high xx

Arkers, so sorry to read your news. It must have been a massive shock especially after an all clear earlier in the year. That must mean it has been caught early, a good thing. Thinking of you and keep posting too.
Man pants, that sounds like a very difficult isolating situation. Do you have any friends you could stay with for a couple of days to give yourself time to think? It can be very hard thinking clearly when immersed in the situation. And I feel very hypocritical saying this but alcohol doesn't help when you need to think clearly and far too many hurtful things are said when someone has had a drink. Good luck with resolving things.
2 AFDs please Shaggy. Diet still a non-starter really although fortunately someone at work ate the last of the biscuits so that meant I couldn't give in to a custard cream at 1630 when I got back into the office. And if the biscuits had still been there when I was leaving the office at 1955 I would have eaten more as starving by then. Lesson to self - do not buy wine to have in the house as last night I would have been very tempted but luckily there was none here and I was to lazy to stop on the way to pick some up.0
