Giving up/ Cutting Down Alcohol Thread Part 16

Hi been busy all day doing, well, not much really. I don't really understand the rule of the 'group' yet, how do I set a challange for myself. I'm allowing myself 1 drink on a week night if I want one but not sure about the weekend, I might allow myself 2 on a weekend night.
Nothing to see here, move along.4 -
Cutting down is good coveredinbees. 😊
The thread only registers AF (alcohol free) days. So we set targets for the month of how many AF days we hope for and then post what we've achieved.
So drinking a little daily might achieve the same amount of cutting down as me just drinking at weekends but wouldn't show on the thread.4 -
I'll go with 8 out of the last 14 including today but hope for 10.

Sunday Night and another 2 to add to the month 18/31 please Cathybird. Actually this is the best I've done since last October when i last did Stoptober. This time however, something seems to have resonated a lot with me and NOT having daily, awful hangovers and almost daily vomiting followed by acid reflux and indigestion for the rest of the day is a big help.
What i am now seeing is that literally the last thing that myself and my partner have in common - and do in common - is gone. Obviously we have a business together but that too has highlighted the fundamental differences at the knoll of it all between us. Its funny, when we met - almost 2 decades ago - we seemed so alike and now all i can see is how different we are. Due to my former 999 career i always wanted to "live", and am spirited and adventurous whereas other half is as adventurous with life as your average 76 year old Grandmother. I remember being in a far east country with him some 10 years ago. I was having the time of my life walking down unknown streets and experiencing a new culture and he was walking 5 paces behind me, almost hiding behind me like a timid child, and i remember feeling a surge of sadness thinking "I'm loving this and he's hating it".
Welcome Smushesma & Coveredinbees. I've been on and off this forum for about 10 years i suspect. One thing is for sure, if you log in daily and participate then it does help put the brakes on a bit. Good Luck.
