hi smushesma
and welcome!
Very happy to add you to the list for November, but it probably won't be posted till a couple of days before the end of October so if you wanted to join in the meantime, as maman suggested, going target-free or with a small target, you'd be most welcome to do that too!

I don't want to totally give up but I do have a bit of a problem with weekends, particularly friday nights. During the week I don't drink anything or if I do have a drink it will be 1 pint but come Friday it is usually half a bottle of wine then beers or whiskey. My wife drinks the other half of the bottle of wine then hits the gin. The same thing usually on Saturday and Sunday nights too. My wife has decided she isn't drinking, one the problem is one of us drags the other one down with them. There is no wine and I haven't got any whiskey left and only a few bottles of beer.So last night I had 1 cider but I was in a funny mood from when I got in from work, probably knowing I wouldn't be drinking (which is absolutely insane really), anyway I drank the 1 cider and that was it. The are a couple of beers for tonight if I want one but there are plenty of soft drinks avaliable, I quite like a tonic and lime or just a ginger ale.We were talking about it between us and we both said the same thing, Monday will come around if you drink yourself stupid or not.Nothing to see here, move along.4

Hello Coveredinbees!!!! 👏
I can relate to what you are saying perfectly - I occasionally drink in the week but not very often, but come Friday night it is normally 1/2 a bottle of wine and some cider and that seems to set the tone for Saturday & Sunday too. My OH is generally the instigator but I don’t really need too much persuasion 😱. I have tried on occasion to have a night off drinking at the weekend but then my OH starts whingeing along the lines of ‘well there’s no point me drinking on my own’ and then I end up feeling guilty about stopping him having a drink 🙁
Wishing you (and your wife) all the best with cutting down 👍3 -
Same here coveredinbees. I don't want to give up but weekend drinking is a habit. I can have an AF Friday and once I'm past dinner time I'm OK but it rarely happens. Usually just when the scales are going in the wrong direction as that's what motivates me best. 😉4

Neither of us have had anything tonight expect tonic and lime, didn't miss it at all tonight. What I find a bit odd is waking up with what feels similar to a hangover when I haven't had any alcohol, I don't have it during the week???
Nothing to see here, move along.2 -
Thank you for the warm welcomes @marahouti @maman @sukeyboo and @cathybird!! 😊
I've decided that you're right that I should have a mini target so I'm planning on 1 AF day next week and two the week before the 1st November. 😉
I'm another one who has a real thing about Friday nights - I don't drink larger quantities but I have a stong feeling of 'entitlement' to a drink after a long week at work 🙈 I need to redirect that to feeling entitled to feel well and clear headed! 😉
I need to find a substitute drink too - I cannot deal with 'diet' drinks of any type so drink full sugar fizzy with my alcohol and I don't want to continue with that sugar level once I stop the drinking. Any suggestions would be welcome!! 😉
