In the light of the new forum rules I just wanted to say that while we mostly discuss cutting down on booze it's also obviously money-saving to spend less on alcohol and this something that gets touched on reasonably regularly! I worked out at one point how many thousands it saved me when I gave up buying a regular brand of Chardonnay I was very fond of. Must do the sums again.
Good point Cathy . If we've got people on the thread saving for a car then we should be OK. 🤔😉 My DH is on an AF kick too at the moment and we commented this morning on how much we were saving when we put the bottles out for recycling. Plus the wine that I do drink was from Sainsburys 25% off wine offer. I'm doing my bit to comply with mse rules. 😉

Absolutely maman! In fact just doing rough sums I was spending about £1,300 a year just on the Chardonnay and I was buying other plonk as well ... if memory serves I was quite fond of vodka and always had that around. I gave all this up altogether maybe four years ago? ... so that's over £5,000 at least, just on the vino, not including the other booze. That's a tidy little sum!
