Giving up/ Cutting Down Alcohol Thread Part 16

Declaring early for Wednesday so 8/18.Thinking back when I first joined this thread I wouldn't dare to post so early because I knew I might be tempted to buy, and therefore drink, a bottle of wine on the way home - not necessarily by myself though. It's more difficult to 'pop' into a shop daily at present but I also think and hope I have lost a habit of assuming I will drink wine every night. However, I'm equally sure it would be relatively easy to slip back. It still takes a bit of resolve to resume not drinking after a holiday for example.Thank you for my flower smiley Cathybird, really made smile this morning. Lots of others are on 5 or 6 days so very close to achieving that too. 👏👏👏.5

Morning all! I changed my mind last night but today rather wish I'd stuck to it, feeling tired and a little off. Thanks to this thread think my tolerance for alcohol has dropped a lot. It's a good thing! Anyway still on 12/21.

Aw thanks maggiem, so glad you like the smiley
I feel I've also lost the habit of assuming it's wine o'clock every night and it really helps, something I absolutely owe to this thread. It feels good for it not to be a habit. x

I can identify with that maggie. I've never been one to shop daily whether for wine or anything else but as for posting early and expecting to drink every day then I've definitely lost that habit. I'm finding the 4 weeknights in a row hard without some evenings out doing various AF activities. I'm convinced that moving my weekly shop to a Thursday (to try to avoid large queues) plus the NHS clapping (which still feels like a NYE celebration) has given me an end of the week feel a day early. That being said, we're not doing too badly as from what I've read many people have just given up and drink daily and eat everything in sight. I'm not there....yet.:maggiem said:Thinking back when I first joined this thread I wouldn't dare to post so early because I knew I might be tempted to buy, and therefore drink, a bottle of wine on the way home - not necessarily by myself though. Good afternoon everyone,
7 please Cathy - and spring flower smiley!
I know what you mean Maman about the Thursday clap being an excuse to call in early and raise a glass too. Going to try and avoid the temptation this Thursday...
